Used viper buying questions (sketchy)

Pretend that you have stumbled across a Viper with no records of anything, that is being sold by a random person who bought it at a government repo auction. What do you look for to see if the car is worth buying? Is there any way of contacting the host of government auctions about the history of the transaction when the viper in question took place?

call a dodge dealer and have them run the vin # for starters. that will tell you what was done as far as warranty and any work at a dealership.

have dealer run vin and do a PPI before buying. Spending a couple hundred now is worth it if it saves you from buying a bad car.
