CPE single turbo makes 747 on pumpgas....

this is the very first system that we put on my car... its a CPE GT47-80 kit. Only one system was made and when I blew my motor up by putting my 02's in the wrong spot (my fault) I was forced to sell the car or go into debt so I sold my car with no motor and sold the kit to a guy down south. He is in the military so it took a while to get it on his car but here is the result!

Its tuned very conservative since its on pumpgas and a BONE stock motor...

see the thread here. Paolo, I know you probably dont even know about this but its AWESOME to see this kit come out of the woodwork after we changed the placement of the 02 sensors after I put them in the wrong spot, lol.

Congrats on building a badass kit man... its very satisfying for me as well

flame on but I went head under water on this... I went into this not knowing very much about cars and paolo didnt know anything about cobras. I learned so much shit from paolo and although it didnt turn out that great for ME, I learned soooo much about cars, about turbos and about life with this project so its nice to see it come back up and be a success

"BONE stock motor"...

03 cobra motor is already built from the factory so it shouldn't be no surprise that its making those kind of #'s with that size turbo. We made 800 rwhp @ 20psi using a jt trim vortech on a daily driven built 96 cobra. Good luck to your friend.

hmm i don't see how u would blow your engine by putting your o2 sensors in the wrong spot. O2 sensors only work for part throttle and idle. When your full throttle the o2 sensors turn off and goes into open loop mode which no longer relies on the o2 sensors for fuel adjustments. the o2 sensors only adjust the fuel for part throttle and idle to get that good 14.7 air/fuel ratio for good gas millage and drivabilty.

anyways awesome lookin kit. Great to see those big dyno numbers.

Eric, Thanks for posting the first Mustang Kit I ever made finally getting to the dyno and making a # worthy of what we put into it!

That thing would pull 900+ RWHP at that boost if he could pull it to 8,000 RPM with the right cam, tune and good gas!

It will also spool about 800-1000 RPM's quicker on the street than on the Dynojet!

You sure have learned learn a lot about turbos since back then!

I will call you later on today!

00SVTDUBS, it's good to see you giving PAOLO props on a kit that is well built. Hopefully in the future you will have more success with the next project. Seasons greeting to you and your family.

thanks guys. Andy, the car got extremely hot in closed loop (normal driving) because both 02 sensors were placed on the passenger up pipe so there was not a drivers side reading (again, my bad). And so the drivers side of the engine got extremely hot and it hurt the whole motor. The rods were blue, cams were blue, the block was cracked and the heads were warped. It got HOT because of my dumbass. But you live and learn, we fixed the problem and Luis bought the kit and is enjoying it very much!

The system was built for ME, it was a highway turbo (laggy but awesome curve for highway racing). Paolo built EXACTLY what I wanted and it was my job to put all the sensors in the right spot and I didnt.

The best thing Paolo ever told me was to..... "sell that fucking mustang and buy a viper"

lol. DONE. Now Im selling the viper for a house, but will get another viper asap and you can be sure Ill be taking it down the street for some turbos at Paolos

true, my motor at the time had cp pistons and stage 3 crower cams. Its just nice to see it done on a stock motor. At 23psi on pumpgas, I told him his motor wont last long but thats not my deal

Props to your 96 cobra as well.

I still have a hard time it would cause that much havoc due to an o2 sensor. Typically the banks on the passenger and driver side are pretty close to even. Well im sure you know more about the details of the project then I do. Congrats on the house. Hopefully you'll get back into the turbo cobra/viper again.

Um, didn't you already sell the viper or did that sale fall through?

um I still have it but its sold yeah.... why? I just got an update from a guy who bought my turbo system about 2-3 years ago and was overseas protecting us in the military and he finally got around to putting the kit on the car and all of Paolo and my hard work finally have paid off as he is very happy with the turbo system.

that was my point for the post.

happy holidays to all

there are 2 on each side. if one is ment to see if the cat is there and working, the other is to tell the AFR (keep it around 15 in open loop)
if they where reversed, the one that should have been by the cat up front, it would have read ALOT of unbrunt fuel, and the one after the cat would be telling a really lean condition (cats burn off rest of the fuel) so i can see how it could pop a motor.

I understand that your motor was built but the 03 cobra motors already have forged everything from the crank to the pistons so your buddies motor should and will last as long as the tune is right. Now dont get me wrong, anytime you add extra horsepower it will shorten the life of the motor especially if your always out thrashing on it but over all he shouldnt have any problems with the stock 03-04 cobra motor with handling the power for a long time with a good tune.
