I used to run one. They work reasonably well, but they don't last the longest. If you are looking for something that will allow you to get away from using a temp gauge in the cockpit, or for checking temps while on a dyno or something, they are good. The only bitch I have with them are that they are a bit "tall".

if you have an aftermarket cooling system, I would say that you can get away with a 16 psi. More pressure = higher boiling point.
