when can your motor actually use larger throttle bodies? getting all the pieces together and wondered with greg good heads ported and extrude honed intake bellangers and full exhaust no cam should i stick to stock throttle bodies i also have a 200 shot on the car.and if i should change should i go 65 or 70 or is there only 1 option with these?
When your making OVER 550RWHP with serious head work and a larger cam you'll begin seeing a little gain. Or with a boosted engine...otherwise it's not worth it...
Never saw anyone on this or any other viper site claim to have anything positive to say when upgrading their throttle bodies on their car. They cost alot, the take away power, but hey! They are shiney. Forget em.
I wouldn't think a boosted car would need them considering air is being forced through the TB's and they are not exactly small as it is. I'm sure at a certain point they're necessary, but I'd think that's well in excess of 800-900rwhp.

Well, funny I have a set to install now I recently purchased used. I will install and post when I get around to putting them on. I have only an 8 LB pulley now, drive it daily, headers, 708 cam, full exhaust, no cats, WM and anyhow this will be interesting. I'll post, but you guys have to give me few weeks to get off my ass to get em on (maybe if I stop posting on the Alley and work on my car?). From my racing experience with NA engines and carbs, I agree that it is the last thing to install and will give you only a little gain usually. Gary

Yeah Paul, install 70mm's on a car and see what happens to the throttle response. If the TB can flow enough air for 500 HP at 30 % open, what do you think will happen to the throttle? Can you say on/off switch?
