How strong is the stock motor?

I know my 97 GTS has a forged motor stock, but what power level is safe on this? I've considered going TT or maybe a SC, and I've seen guys making huge power on stock motors, but at what power level is it dangerous? What is the weak link? Head gaskets, rods,???

The stock bottom end can do 900+RWHP here and there (some have even put down over 1000+RWHP on the stock bottom. But it seems that the popular consenses is that you don't want to take it much past 750RWHP (for long term reliability*) as the stock bearings being to wear out at an accelerated rate. Thats the weak link. Not the pistons.

Yeah, that sucks, but shopping for a new toy is a blast isn't it?

Or maybe you're just gonna pimp out the H2 with some 30" rims, 15 monitors, 6 subs, air ride, and a custom porno interior like Danny Glover had in his Caddilac in that one movie.....
