You guys think this could be hurting the cars performance any?

Ever since I got my car in June I have been trying to figure out if the local dyno is off, or if something is robbing me of power on my car. I have not done any mods on the car, what is on it was on it when I purchased it. It has hooker headers, stock exhaust ( with cats) but mufflers deleted, and this this intake setup.

With the stuff listed above the car dynoed 396whp at 44xrwtq at 2200ft

I ran a 12.4 on stock tires at 115.5 and an 11.90 at 116 the same day I was on the dyno. Again at 2200ft elevation

Went out yesterday and made 11 passes, all on drag radials 11.9 to 12.2

I was thinking, the intake of the car is sitting RIGHT in front of the radiator and so the air that it is sucking in is coming directly off the radiator. I see a lot of guys on here running stock air boxes with drop in filters, or after market air boxes. I dont remember seeing any intake setups like this... maybe the heat soak is the reason?

Sorry for the dirty engine bay, its a lot cleaner now

It probably isn't helping..

While your dyno #s are a little low, I don't know that your ET is any slower than average for a car with your mods.

change that if you get the car hot. if you just 1/4 mile leave it

80% of that filter only has access to engine air

A K&N style set up will help for sure, also a flip flop in that exhaust set will help in the way of deleting the cats but have a high quality set of hi-flow type mufflers to increase the HP/TQ some.

Of course adding two of these to the ends of that piping will make quite a big difference also.

i think you need a new filter, 396rwhp@44xrwtq , im not an expert but HP number seems little low and i assume you losing some HP top end because the filter is restricting air flow at higher rpms plus sucking hot air from the radiator

Take the filter/tubing off and run some junk piping a foot in front of the car and redyno....that should clue you in.

that setup is hideous. Pull it off and put it on ebay for some other guy to buy. Use the stock airbox. with s&b filters not the k&n's.

What kind of dyno is it...Mustang or Dynojet or something else? The Mustang will typically read lower.

Thanks guys. And yes I have been looking for a stock intake setup, so if you know of one for sale please link me to it! I have looked on ebay and cant find any. I know someone has one with all the new TT and SC cars showing up every day on here! I believe it was a dynojet, not a mustang dyno as well.

S&B filters are nice filters, that is all I used when I owed my TT stealth.
