Question about a 2001 GTS

Im looking into purchasing one and ive found one yellow with black stripes for 43200. it has about 24k miles on it. everything on the vehicle looks great. it has the few scratches on the bottom of the front fascia. does this sound like a good price? everything on the car is factory.

From the vague description , I would say its a good price. More info would help: any accidents, new or old tires, upgrades

no accidents. tires are in good condition, fronts will probably need replacing in the next 6 months. paint is in great condition. drives and shifts smooth. i rode in the vehicle, drove fine sounded good. i have read about these cars having cat problems and burning the sideskirts so what is the easiest way to fix that, what exhaust?

i would post the link but it wont let me yet.

Looks like a stock car with small upgrades(MGW stuff). $43K is not bad for an 01 bumblebee.

Sounds like a decent price to me.

You won't have to worry about the yellowing side sill problem on the bumblebee (already yellow). Mainly an issue with silver cars. That aside, a set of high flow cats are always a good upgrade to reduce side sill and cabin heat, give you a little more volume and probably a couple of HP. Catback exhaust you want to pick will be mainly based on what kind of exhaust tone/loudness you are looking for.

If the tires are original, you should plan on replacing them all soon even if they have decent tread on them.

Decent price......if they are "asking" $43,200, make a different offer and see what happens....remember the price of new tires, and alignment......another $800 for fronts only.....

asking price was 44k. my concern was the failure of the factory cats, ive seen that as a common issue with a viper. this will be my first. the only upgrade i think he has is that gas cap and the cigarette lighter. exhaust wise i want to have a nice deep tone but nothing too loud. what cats do you recommend using? i want to make sure my viper is safe. if i do an exhaust though i dont want a check engine light nor do i want something that is obnoxiously loud. any recommendations?

roughly how much for rear tires on this vehicle? i cant imagine the cost .. i dont plan to drive it much though, its definitely an investment car. i had a scion tc that i dumped a ton of money into bringing the invested value of that car up over 40k and i only drove it on weekends. in the end i decided it would be better to have a 40k viper sitting in the garage then the tc. the viper grabs traction a little faster, but overall not a whole lot faster. that tc was pushing well over 300 to the wheels and was a 12.1 sec capable 1/4 mile. i could never drive it that good but was capable. if im not mistaken this viper is only a 12 sec 1/4 time stock correct? what is the top speed on it with no mods?

thank you all for all of your information so far. you guys saved me from buying the orange one that ended up on ebay .
