Thinking about taking your Viper to Underground Racing? Read Here First!
If you opened this and thought this was going to be a write up about how you should NOT take your Viper to Underground Racing, or if your just in general a hater on UGR, then this is NOT the thread for you
First off, let me start off by stating that Underground Racing is a first class act! I sent my Viper GTS after talking to Kevin on the phone. We agreed on what I wanted to have done to the car and he suggested things that were just not needed and a waste of money and to put that money into other areas that should be addressed. Kevin is a stand up guy and you don't have to worry about being nickeled and dimed on every little thing like some of these other shops out there. He never once called me to try and get me to buy something I didn't need or raise the price on what we had originally agreed on. This was very comforting to me and I felt even more comfortable after meeting Kevin, KC and the guys at the shop.
My Viper was sent the first time to have the Paxton Polished Supercharger Kit installed, upgraded twin fans with a polished shroud, Mc Leod twin disc clutch and lightened flywheel, AEM, UGR Custom Fuel System with billet rails, twin crank case ventilation system, braided lines/fittings and tuning. After these modifications it put down 628 RWHP. The Viper ran amazing and sounded even more amazing.
Shortly after having my Viper back, I sent it back to UGR and had the bottom end reworked and upgraded the pistons, stage III heads, custom ground supercharger cam, Roller Rockers, Bellenger Headers, Hi-flow cats , Corsa Exhaust, triple in tank walbro 255 HP pumps on billet hanger (almost silent), replaced the clutch at no extra charge due to a defect , determined AEM not functioning properly so they replaced the entire unit at no extra charge, installed Gen III Valve Covers and custom polished billet spacers, they shipped out my intake manifold for me and had it mirror polished, added a Roe Water Methanol Kit and a smaller pulley to produce 15-17 lbs boost and dyno tuned on one of the hottest days of this year where the temps were over 104+ and the humidity was enough to choke you, the car still laid down 875 RWHP on pump gas.
They had me come down for the weekend and hang out at the shop and see all of the magic happen before my very own eyes and to run the hell out of my car to make sure everything was ok with the car before taking it back home. They took me out to lunch the first day and even paid for me at a nice Mexican Restaurant and on the 2nd day we went to some place (wish i knew the name) that had the best sweet tea and the amount of food they gave you was insane and the hot and spicy mac-n-cheese was the best stuff since sliced bread
I will be bringing my car back to dyno tune under normal temperatures and have some additonal work done again. All I can say is that Underground Racing ROCKS!!!!

Yep, I also got the treatment on my visit last week......great guys to deal with.....I think I have Kevin on speed dial now........we have talked a lot on my build and everything is going great.....I have full confidence in their abilities to build a first class car.
They definitly go way outta there way to make sure you vehicle is right and the customer is happy.
Said it before, they have a friend and customer for life!
Congrats on your car sir, and walt yours will be jsut as amazing!
[quote=UnderGroundRacing.com;908464]Thanks Mike glad you like it and congrats on your King of the hill thing you won in VA!
Thanks Kevin. I won King of the Hill Trophy at the Viper vs. Corvette HP Challenge at Childrens Hospital Charity Fundraiser in Richmond, VA. They estimated 1029 BHP calculating a 15% drivetrain loss or something to that effect. Anyway, I can't wait to get her back to UGR for some more work and tuning!
Mike glad that you got what you wanted. I am sure it is a nasty monster. I know UGR is top notch and so is everything they touch. what kind of dollars did an install like that run you if you don't mind me asking. pm if you like just curious as I am getting ready to build my 97 gts and am tossing up a build like this vs. a moderate tt build up.

If your remotely even thinking of spending a little bit of money, i'd say take a trip to Underground Racing and take a ride in ANY of the TT Vipers there and after doing that, it will all become very clear to you lol. I love the power and sound and looks of my Supercharger set-up, however if I did it over again, I would just do the TT's and call it a day! Call Kevin and he can work up anything you want done from mild to wild. I think that I may go with the TT's at some point even after doing all the work to mine
Now you know why Kevin wears baggy pants, his balls are so big because of US nutswinger. UGR does a great job and Kevin takes it personal to make sure the customer is happy. I started eating more to weight down Kevins balls, continued success UGR.
