Question New Viper owner

Hey fella's. Just wanted to drop in and say that I just purchased a 2000 GTS. Red with silver stripes. Just wondering if I could get some info on things that I might want to look out for? New to the Viper family, been a GM guy in the past so it's all new to me. Also any tips for a 6'3" man to be more comfortable inside that small cockpit? Thanks in advance.

Congrats

I'm sure you'll find that your 'new' Viper is the best you could have bought.

One issue you want to watch out for is that with the huge tires on these cars you need to be careful in the rain. Make certain that you always have lots of tread on the tires if you drive in the rain.

For comfort you'll want to buy a seat lowering track, call JonB at Parts Rack, for a bit of extra headroom. If you've got the stock stereo you need to upgrade the speakers if you want quality sound ( I used Hertz and Polk speakers).

If you're into modifications, I suggest a Roe Blower and exhaust as they realize HUGE power increases throughout the power range for minimal cash. More power can be seen on a dyno with a Paxton or twin turbos, but they give you nothing under 3500rpm. I would guess a 700hp Roe is equivalent to a 1,000hp Paxton or TT.

You're gonna love it!

Ted

Welome. Post up some pics of the car.

For the comfort, RTTT hit it right on the head. Parts Rack offers both a one inch and a two inch seat lowering kit.

RTTTTed - please explain to all of us how a 700hp Roe set up is equivalent to a 1000hp TT set up. Why would you "guess" this without actually knowing?

Here's a pic or two. I'm not sure who had the car before me, I bought it from Chicigo Motorcars. Pretty stock except for some bolt on goodies. I will have to call Partsrack.com for some seat lowering brackets. Ok, so I'm a dumb azz, can someone tell me how to post pics? Been at it for 5 minites & getting mad.

You need to have at least 5 posts to put up pics. Also, can you tell us about your experience with that dealership? I have heard a lot of mixed reviews about them and their cars.

Granted, you guys did great things with Matt's car . Just curious though, at what cost. Most(like me) are $ aware and trying to get the best bang for the buck. I've got a total of $9000 in to my car(stock block/heads). How much Did you charge Matt for the car? I thought it was $13K. Now it's a turbo race, and Paolo has the lead(again thinking of cost) with the best designed system for the least amount of money. For the guys with unlimited funds it either Heffner or UGR. Where's Brian? Has he driven his new turbo car into the 9's yet?

They were okay. The only beef that I have so far is a scratch on the real low on the front bumper. They said they told me, but I don't remember it. But on their defense they did say if they could help with it let them know. 2 more posts to go.
