Re: Vipermania vs OEM

In my opinion the OEM hard top looks the best by far.

The others look... well, they don't look like they fit as well. They DO fit as well, as far as I can tell, they just don't LOOK that way. However, I'm sure there are plenty who would disagree with me. Photos all from the same angle would really be the only way to compare if you don't have the opportunity to check them out in person.

Re: Vipermania vs OEM

I think you can glue that optional duct on an OEM hardtop.. as far as looks, I'm not sure, but I know I like how the OEM looks on my car.. The only thing that Vipermania has on it is quick removal.. Takes me about 10 minutes to go from hardtop to convertible due to having to rebolt on the sportbar.. The Vmania uses the softtop clips in the rear so sportbar does not get removed. I think there was a Yellow OEM Hardtop on ebay actually if you are looking for one..

The car looks great except for the chin splitter. It does not flow with the lines of the car and reminds me of long beards.

Unless I'm wrong, don't the Gen 2 Mopar hardtops use the rear clips like the soft-top? I believe that was one of the changes they did on the Gen 2...

I have V-mania

I have the V-mania top and it is the best in construction. It does not fall apart like the OEm one does. The latch mechanism infront is great and the rear lock is a bolt with a plate instead of scissors that come undone. I have some pics, if you want them, email me.

Re: I have V-mania

Well, I have seen the OEM top and compared it to mine. The inside of the V-mania one is carpeted, the latches for the front are in aluminium and are precise for the fitting. The rear closing has an opening that permits you to insert your fingers to "feel out" the bolt when installing it. The seals are excellent when compared to the OEM ones that I have seen. They are lighter than OEM since they are made of CF and fiberglass. I get a leak from the windshield, but that fault is in the construction of the windshield itself. My model does not have a gasket like later models do where the windshield and side windows meet. I am looking for the right seal to apply, then the leak will stop. I am happy with the V-mania one.

Re: I have V-mania

Vip RT-10, your V-Mania top is carpeted inside?
Mine is not!
My factory top was carpeted though, I think I got ripped.
Without the front splitter and rear wing, the V-Mania top looked real funny. I've got pics of that.
As for the looks of the front splitter, the car looks 100 times better than the factory Gen I front. Pics don't do it justice.

Re: I have V-mania

inside of OEM is definitely carpted and done well at that. I can't see any bad craftsmanship whatsoever. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Just my thoughts.
