Considering purchasing a viper need Help!

ok so i need some advice, im trying to decide between 2 vipers at the moment both are 97 red gts's, the first one a friend of mine has, its got 3k miles on it mint condition never seen rain, never raced and blah blah lol, he wants 50k firm it has headers and straight pipes. Love the way it looks and sounds, all the vipers i looked at ranging in miles from 2k to 10k were all about $50k

The second one that im leaning more towards buying has 37k miles and the following mods (taken from the ad in the paper)

1997 Dodge Viper GTS V10 Over 800 HP. In great condition. $$$$$ in additional options. Less than 2,000 miles on motor; ROE Supercharger with 10 LBS boost, Roe upgraded cylinder heads, Jesel 1.7 ratio roller rockers and custom Jesel 3/8 push rods, ROE custom cam, MSD fuel pump, voltage booster, ROE upgraded stainless steel 70 mm throttle and VEC2 complete comp system, B&B 1 3/4' headers, 3 cat back exhaust system w / cat delete and 4 polished exhaust tips, fluidyne 4 core aluminum radiator w / custom modified fan module, 172 degree thermostat, MSD 8 mm plug wires and plugs, new racing clutch with less that 200 miles on it, unitrax 355 rear and gears. All new glass, headlights, for lights covers, and emblems.

^^^ however this ones from a dealership 300miles away tho they only want $43k ???? and im almost sure i could talk them down to 40 by the way guy talked on the phone, i just cant figure out why it sounds to good to be true can anyone think of possible problems or easy things to spot or even questions i should be asking when i go and look at it, i havent carfaxed it yet but ill do that this week, im just worried ill be had on this deal since i know nothing about vipers and that if ne thing happens this place is 300miles away.

I dont get why having 34 thousand more miles and a shitload of work done would be about 10 grand cheaper then any other viper ive seen, so any advice/help would be great Thanks!!

I'd love to be able to help, however I couldn't make it past the first 6 paragraphs. Flip a coin, buy a car and post pics!

The price does seem a little strange, however you d be much happier in the long run with the supercharged car IMHO. It if was me the miles would nt be that big of a deal since the engine has low miles and most vipers dont get driven all that much anyways. Just my .02

Because most viper owners do not want a high mileage car...

like spray said, drive them both. Guys have been known to destroy a car in 3000 miles so there is no easy answer...

First off.... Have you ever owned or frequiently driven a car producing 800HP? Stock Vipers are pretty crazy, so if this is your first "Fast" car, then go with the "near stock" one. You won't be disappointed at all. Jumping into a car producing 800HP is no joke and can get you killed.
