It's Time To Settle The Score...

David Boggs called me out a couple of months ago to street race him in his street car. Now, Kevin Howeth has called me out to street race him in his personal car, and David will not street race, but is willing to race me at the dragstrip. I had concerns about being at a disadvantage against a car with a more aggressive tire on it. After expressing those concerns, I was met with harsh criticism about the rules governing our race. After putting a little thought into the situation, I have decided to put my concerns aside and man up to a real race. Why not?

I feel quite confident in my skill as a driver and my ability to extract the maximum performance out of the car. I will show up on my radials, and Kevin will show up on his. Big Red will be on kill and we will see where the cards fall. I will take some time to get my car properly tuned for this race. I have yet to put race gas in it or drive it on my BFG DR's. I plan to take the time necessary to get comfortable with the new configuration, and bring my best effort to race day.

So that we understand what Kevin has requested, the race will be "from 30mph to the end of 4th gear". It will be on radial tires.

Now it's my turn. I am willing to come out and race Kevin's personal car with Kevin driving. I am willing to tape the entire race and post it here for the world to see. I will put it all on the line. In return, David Boggs will show up in Bradenton, in his car, with a six speed, with him driving. He will race me in front of the viper community. Also, Kevin Howeth will show up in Bradenton, in his car, with a six speed, with him driving. He will race me in front of the viper community.

I will make sure that someone (probably not me) will organize the December event. If I back down from either of these commitments (for some reason excluding a personal tragedy), I will be happy to ask the mods to delete my VA account and never post here again.

There's your race.

Now THAT'S settling the score. Calm cool classy way of just calling all the boys out to play. WE all know these are top contenders and my girlfriend and I will be there December to watch this thing go down.

Great stuff for the viper community. I think some of the forum talk gets a little out of hand and I don’t like to see the elite owners and tuners going at each other on the keyboard. A competitive environment is great but sometimes I don’t understand why it has to get personal. Respect each other, race, and have fun pushing each other to the limit safely. The rest of us will live vicariously through your efforts until we can start to compete at that level

You definitely cannot call him G-Spot, nothing with the mouth required from this point foreward. Just the right foot and a big pair.... well maybe a little electronic gadgetry will help Gary find the sweet spot to get the win......

I want to see the race!

Outstanding.

"We just have the balls to match the scratch"

This inspiring statement is one that rings through my head almost daily, one of the gems I picked up here on this site, wish I could remember who said this comment…

Underground agrees to all terms except the location of the drag races. We have been on record for months as not going back to Florida. I'm not going to go into all the reasons as we have explained the issues that have lead to our position. We will travel to Savannah for the street race.

We will be hosting a free grudge drag race this fall at Rockingham. Underground will cover all track fees and anyone with a Viper is welcome to come and race. Line up against your buddies and settle some grudges or just come for a test and tune. No entry fees, no trophy's, race for fun or to settle scores. We will commit to having the drag races with Gary, myself and Roof at that location and time.

How long will it take you Gary to get ready for the street race, days, weeks or what? We need a relative time frame. The Underground Rockingham Grudge Race date is in the works and the date will be announced when we get the final agreement form track officials.

Tell earwood I said hello . He got mad at some of my guys this weekend. Seems the crew I sent down there didn't make up to the tower to ask steve about handing out flyers at his track. It's the unwritten rule all track owners follow . I was out of town in vegas for UFC. I think Steve wants to put my track in a rear naked choke about right now.

Good luck with this race. I personally don't see the need for a 2nd race if you race the first time. Rockingham is an excellent track when prepped for a private rental. So if you're going to run, that would be the place to do it. Plenty of great parking, excellent track with a lot of shut off and it's proven to be fast.

I wouldn't mind coming down to Rockingham to learn how to run my Viper this fall and Florida is just too far away from Ohio. I'd love to see the Big Boys run live and in person and so would a lot of other people located north of Florida.
