Autoform Roll Bar for GTS, GEN II

Anyone please post if this is a good roll bar for street strip driving and what it entails as far as installation. I'm thinking of extra protection and don't want to cut my car all up, but I am a REALLY aggressive driver and would like the piece of mind. There is a guy on Ebay with a $1,500 one, but that seems expensive for some bent and welded tubes, but I am all ears.

Just installed an autoform one in an '01 ACR. You will loose about 2-3 inches of seat room. Not a fan at all of the nutserts. I will remove the carpet in the next car I do and weld nuts to the body where needed. It's an all day job to do it right.

I've got the autoform roll bar in my S/C GTS. I'll post some pics in another thread. I went to a car show tonight and took some pics, look for that thread in a couple of minutes.

PS: The roll bar cost $1200 bucks and another $300 to get it powder coated (makes the car go faster, cough, cough)

Looks great...I have been talking to UGR about installing one in my ride currently being built....how tough is it to install?

Also I like the driver side seat....how do you like it?.....it looks wider than the stock seat....looks good where did you get it?

Thanks in advance, Walt

I got the seat from Bobby Archer, Welcome to ViperSpeed - The Home of Viper Performance! - (817) 877-1772, he also did the install. It was the only one he had, he got it from the team (Oreca) I believe. The shoulders are a little wider but the seat portion feels like a chastity belt, but it does it job. I will only use the seat at the track and I am going today . I'll put the stock one back in for DD use.

ART just put in my bar from Big Brake Dave , they said it fits well and I will post pics in a couple of days when I pick it up. It is a 4 point powdercoated bar that weighs only 39 lbs.
here it is:

Dave makes one now with a side bar? Looks like the guy needs it for "strip" duty as well.

Not sure if BTR is still making some, and I think the side bar on the Autoform is extra ($$$).

Thumbs up

Autoform installed by Bobby Archer also. The Autoform also has a sidebar option. Fits well and I didn't loose any seat travel. Comes with a center console panel that replaces the stock one so you don't have to cut up your stock panel.

Thanks guys for the photos and advice. I might get one added in later-it looks like it is a bit of work and geez on the price-lol. Yes, I would like it for the track duty when I go which is once a year or so, but I drive really hard on the street and the protection would be kewl. I think I will have to see one in person to check the swing out bar or the fixed type and make a decision. I drive my baby all the time, so I ahve to consider that. Additionally, I run stock seats and belts too so who knows. I need more money for this addiction to speed-lol. I want a TT Lambo, a Superbird, redo my 68 GTO and for the Viper I am pretty much done except for some more minor brake mods and such. Donations gladly accepted, but seroiously thanks for taking the time to post the pics and feedback on this. Gary
