I got the GTS running pretty good and decided to take to a country road and jump on it a little. Got it up to a quick 100mph and was coming up on the end of the road and put on the brakes hard and it wasn't slowing down as much as I wanted and was used to with my Z06. I did a search and noticed there was a lot of threads on this subject. What's the cheapest best fix for this (besides not driving fast and hitting the brakes). I want to make it as safe as I can but with all the fixes I've had to do since I got it last week, I'm running out of money. It's still starting hard so I might have to replace the fuel pump too. If anyone has a good cheap place for that, please let me know also.

Make sure you don't have EBC greens on there first. You can also mount a stock front caliper on the back wheels. I believe there are better discs available, but I will let someone else chime in. I know Paolo got a setup using a lot of stop components that worked very well for him. Call him at 630-878-3907. I am sure he would clue you into what he did.
I wouldnt go cheap on one of the most important items on a car that can save your life....Especially at the speeds this car is capable of in a hurry....Save up for a Stoptech big brake kit and breathe easy
One of the cheapest and best ways to upgrade the brakes is to get with Tom over at the mOrgue. His $650 40MM rear brake upgrade is the way to go and you'll get evenly balance braking from it.

Lots of guys talk about converting to the SRT system. I don't know how much it would be to do that compared to the Stoptech system, but the SRT brakes are very good.

My understanding is the SRT brakes are much more capable than the Gen II chassis - your best bet is Tom's brake upgrade or a StopTech kit. You may also want to get new pads/fluid and have the rotors examined before you spend any additional money on upgrades.
