Just my 0.02
Does this really need any more discussion ??
Not trying to kill your thread or anything ..
It just seems it is a matter of preference to the customer wich design
he prefers.

Jerry, you are right.
I am starting this thread to move the discussion off Carl's thread.

Seems like side mounts need to hack up the front end more. I like the idea but trust the front mounts more.

I'm sure the side mounts are better performing but I just cringe at the thought of cutting.

There have been several tuners making TT kits and only one to my knowledge offers a side mount air to air intercooler kit. Not saying the front mounts are better but this should tell you something...

Agreed, however a nice looking FMIC looks sick from the front of a Viper.

True but a number of cars from the factory come with side mounts for a reason....300Z, 3000GT VR-4...etc
Factory cars like the SRT-4, EVO are coming from the factory with FMIC's so........mabe it is all preferance.
The true test:
2 equally built cars, one FMIC, one side mounts......let the testing begin.

Hey Gus, what about the Subie with it ...on top of the engine.....Gasp!
How about mentioning which ones have a water sprayer to help cool them down?
Now about the VR4, mine with stock "side mounts" were all beat to shit from front ANG BACK even with the factory wheel well liners in place.
