Last Friday I went to the Ohio VCA Viper Play Day at BeaveRun Motorsports Complex. John Wojnar and the Ohio VCA did a fantastic job of organizing and hosting an event that should not be missed. This was my first road coarse event and all I can say is WOW! What a blast, there is so much more to these cars than hammering down the ¼ mile. My car was built as a street car with occasional drag strip use so I really didn’t know what to expect out of it. Having a Roe supercharger at 12lbs of boost and minimal break upgrades had me a little nervous to be honest. But the car performed awesome, and it really took a good beating. I drove about 1.5 hours to the track, ran her hard for 2 total hours, and then drove home. My brakes and tires look hammered, but the car got a lot of attention. Even the McCann Comp coupe guys commented on how nice the car looked and how great it sounded. Thanks again Larry for building me an all around strong and fun car. However, I just may have to skip the turbo idea and save up for another GTS track beater. You were right, I'm addicted now.
Thanks to my instructor Jim Stout. Jim is a first class instructor and driver. By the end of the day Jim had me driving solo. (Apologies if these pictures are too big.)

The car looks great! Was it hard to handle with the power? I would think that you would either have to be in a higher gear coming out of a turn or be very light with the pedal.
Man those CCW's are hot, I love mine. Did you lost a hubcap?
BlueGTS, I just had to drive sensible and not put it to the floor until I felt the car felt balanced. I was real impressed with the PS2's for street tires.
V10kingsnake, thanks man. I do need to get some track wheels. They fortunately cleaned up like brand new, wish I could say the same for my EBC pads.
Great pics, now you're that much ahead on track time and I'm sure have aquired a better learning curve as well. People tend to forget the value of experience and how far it can carry you at future events.
Good thread.
Now you got me wanting to go to a road course
VIR is an hour from me. Maybe I'll put some Khumo's on the stock wheels for that.
Don't get me wrong, I love drag racing...but road coursing is awesome! Mount the Khumo's and go have a blast. I seriously want a track/street car now. Nothing HP crazy, good set of heads/cam, and a great brake setup and suspension.
