OEM hard top?

Are the OEM hardtops for gen II's "double bubble?" Or are they "flat" across. I've seen double bubble, bipermania, etc., and was wondering what the cosmetic differences were. Pics, input would be great. thanks.

Double bubble. I wish I had seen your post before I went down for a drive...could've taken a few photos. However, there is no "duct" at center of the leading edge.

I don't think the Gen IIs are any different than the Gen Is
I hate my top, and when the weather is bad, I just don't drive my car.

best bet would be to go to the different pages where they list the tops and look?

Re: OEM hard top?

The OEM is a double bubble top. Vipermania makes tops that look like the OEM. They also sell their tops with a duct in the front. The flat tops were made for the gen 1 Vipers and as far as I know, are not made anymore. Here is a picture of a flat top on a gen 1 -

Re: OEM hard top?

Here is a good shot of why they call the double bubble top the double bubble. This top is on a gen 1 as well and is a Mopar top. .

Re: OEM hard top?

this last picture from the rear is the one I wanted to see. Now, is mopar the manufacturer of the OEM top? Don't get it? That didn't come with the car right? They look completely different when flat, so I wanted to know before I bought. Thanks guys.

Re: OEM hard top?

Mopar is the manufacturer of the top. They were an option for the later RT's. They are available through Dodge, but are way too expensive. Try the VCA ads for a good used hardtop.
