Thumbs up Upgraded the Tranny – RPM TRANSMISSIONS

I decided to moderately upgrade my transmission to a Level V by RPM Transmissions.RPM Transmissions T56 T-56 4L60E 4L65E

These guys were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Rodney and Todd will go over everything with you and make sure you get exactly what you want. He REALLY knows the T-56. He has his own packages/upgrades, and is also a G-Force dealer. He has already done a few G-Force upgrades for TT vipers, and also does as a lot of work for Lingenfelter. His prices are extremely competitive and his service is top notch. You simply give him a call, decide what you want, and he ships you out a complete transmission ready to bolt it. Once you swap out the tranny, you put your old one on the pallet the new one came on and ship your old tranny back to him. Shipping is all arranged through RPM.

I went with the Level V and had them change the 5th and 6th gear to 0.80 / 0.62. The ratio change really made 5th and 6th more useful for me.

Thanks for the info Simms. Is this an upgrade or were you experiencing any problems?

I wonder how long my tranny will hold out with 900 wild ponies.

I think I hurt it in Bradenton when my clutch went out. I decided not to address it at that time, but it got notchier and whined more and more as I drove it. RPM said the gears were starting to turn. I decided to upgrade before it took a dump on me and I became stranded.

Who knows how long the tranny will last in your animal Rick. Many guys have put down HUGE power with stock trannies....look at Ripper.

$2195 got me:
Media blast transmission case
Solid keys
Bronze fork pads
Bronze shifter bushings
Steel 3-4 shift fork
RPM modified 1-2 shift fork
Hand fit sliders and hub
New compressed carbon blocking rings
Metal Micropolish
Assembled to RPM specifications
Cryogenic tempering
Custom 5th/6th gear ratio

Rodney would be able to tell you how much power each level can hold. He will want to know how much rwhp and rwtq your car is making, and how you use your car. Obviously he can do many variations and levels. He doesn't even list the G-force upgrade on his site but uses their internals all the time. It's best to just call him and get a quote for your needs. He is extremely easy to talk to and very knowledgable and will not sell you something just to make money.

Looks my tranny just went out, can't get it out of first gear for the most part. Looks like it's time to give them a call.

What does changing the upper gear ratios do for you ?

Did he throw in the cryogenic tempering for free? It says the Stage V alone is $2195 +Upgrades include: $350 - Cryogenic tempering

I'm going to call tomorrow, the Viper is dead until I get a new tranny

I just bought my tranny off of these guys and it should be here within the week :-) I went with the cryo stuff and the stage 5 like SIMMS. My stock tranny went KABOOM with the input shaft gear getting hosed. Scary hitting about 90 MPH in a turn when it blows, but at least my girl was in the car and she didn't even blink an eye despite it sounding like the car was coming apart-lol. I'll let you know how RPM does and thanks to SIMMS for the phone call for advice on tranny.
