Okay guys and gals, here is the deal. My 00 GTS with 8 Lb Roe, Meth, misc mods, Drag Radials and the New Spec 3+ clutch just grenaded the tranny. I just hit 3rd gear tonight around 85 MPH like usual and them POP, GRIND and all that Batman sounds like the old TV shows.... Anyhow, the clutch only had 133 miles on it and I figured it might be that as the pedal got really soft and I lost all forward gears except 4th gear (direct drive gear). I pulled off the road, got a flat bed (guy said he towed em before and he was an expert and of course he LIGHLY scratched the nose on the ground like an idiot), and took it to my buddy's shop. Dropped the trans on a Sunday night (nice to have great friends!) and even the input shaft is lightly bent. What do I do now? Do I get this repaired locally? Send it to Woodhouse and have a few things done? Do I buy a new one and keep this as a spare and get it rebuilt? Consider this-my buddy is doing me a huge favor letting me tie up his lift and time is critical as he is a really small shop with only two lifts. I love him like a brother, but anyhow time is critical as he needs his space. Suggestions please, but I know my trans probably needs an input shaft and an input gear at a minimum but then again I don't know for sure. I also had Brian at S&K Speed in New York do a T-10 trans for me in my 650 HP GTO and it works great and he is WELL respected in doing trans work. Anyhow, more facts then this is moot. I see however now that I have drag radials and a better clutch, shit is breaking, so I KNOW I need to get rid of my stock half shafts as I hit 150+ mph weekly and I do 100+ full throttle runs ever week and I drive it hard. My Brake Man 3 pads lasted only about 4,000 miles for street use and I hit 160-180 MPH often and drive like a maniac, so maybe a serious trans upgrade is needed? Is a good used T56 okay?
When I get a minute, I will post some kill stories online and a FUNNY ass story if a guy I took for a ride a few weeks ago and he had a panic attack and he ended up in an ambulance.. Thanks in advance guys!

Reason: Fast post w/a few typos
Addl info: Car has 33K miles on it and this is the 2nd trans in it. My first trans had some minor problem and was replaced at 15K with DC warranty plan years in 2004. Thanks, Gary

Maybe you should re-think how you drive instead of buying a trans that could support your bad habits...I hope you don't hurt anyone on those mean streets...

Maybe you need to go onto the "other" Viper website and post. I think you will find 90% of the members here RUN thier cars and don't just show and shine.
Simms, just checked thier website and thank you! I was just in Pittsburgh last weekend-that is my hometown too.
Sylvan, I am all ears on options and Chuck I know a used one is an option too and with that I might PM you should I go this route. Thanks all, but current trans looks messy :-)
Just called Woodhouse and John Donato, and I am comparing options. A used tranny might be good if the price is right, but I am thinking of an option to upgrade any of the stuff inside if possible/practical :-) SRK, I asked Mark J @ Woodhouse about the 2008 boxes and he said he doesn't think they are out as yet, but he is checking. Glad we have a place here to ask these things and share information. Thanks all for the help, and if anyone has any advice for my old box besides keeping it for parts or Ebaying it if I don't need a core, LMK.
No Plum, but I see his name associated with good things on here a lot :-) I'm waiting on a few calls back now from folks. If you think I should call him, please LMK. If anyone has a used tranny, please PM me a price and warranty, mileage and shipping to 08109 New Jersey. TY!
