WHY IS EVERYONE SAYING YOU NEED A SC OR NOS TO TAKE A STOCK Z06?
tHEY MAX OUT AT 127 MPH IN THE 1/4MILE...GEN2 VIPERS MAX OUT AT 121 MPH IN THE 1/4 MILE...
6 MPH IS A BIG DIFFERANCE NO DOUBT...But a supercharger/nos would be over kill and well into the 130-140 mph range...Im trying tokill a C6Z06...Not a TT427 Saleen!!!!!!!!!
Ive read of a few bolt on gen2's trapping in the 124-127 range...Also seen a vid of a 460 rwhp bolt on GTS run door to door with fadi's 11.6 at 126 mph C6Z06...
He just came and picked me up a few hours ago..We did a few 20-80 mph blast in the Z06...He's 280 pounds and Im 220 pounds..For a combined weight of 500 pounds. To me it didnt feel any faster than my Viper...Then again though we had a lot of weight in their.........
So we'll see how it goes down in a week from dead stops as well as numerous roll speeds. Ill be fresh off the dyno with new SAE numbers..

first off you need to go the cheapest route that will beat a stock z06 and headers/exhaust isnt going to get it done. dont fool yourself into believing that is all you need to beat him, because that is never going to happen and since you probably dont want two spend thousands of dollars for forced induction you might want to invest in a nitrous kit. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON EXHAUST BECAUSE YOU WILL STILL GET YOUR ASS HANDED TO YOU. you mentioned that you seen a vid of fadi vette at the track with a gen 2 viper running side by side or was that side by side run on a highway roll-on ? You also mentioned that you ran 12.20's on a shitty track. I find that hard to believe.

I'm going to have to disagree with the word "any". Personally The RT-10 doesn't do it for me. The rear is by far the ugliest. It's like a chick with big tits and no ass.. While it could have been so much more, they decided to slope it off in the rear and make it look flat. All other viper stylings are amazing though. Round and Voluptuous.
Stock ZO6's do nut run in the low 11's. At least not when I have been to the track. Maybe there is one or two people who can do it but it is a rarity.

they may not all run low 11's but most of them will run mid 11's bone stock...............would you consider a 11:40 pass mids or low 11's. its sad that a stock z06 with nothing but the spray will blow your viper off the road. they are what they are.......... and they are a BAD ASS car. PERIOD.
Too the visual thing..We took quite a few side by side pics and my 99 rt10 looked quite a bit better...
With all the hype that surrounds just how fast the 11.5 at 127 C6z06 is you tend to put it on a pedastal and forget what it really is...
But when it pulls up in your drive way..Your not seeing a 11 second FGT..Your not seeing an 11 second Porshe...
Your seeing a corvette with a lil scoop in the fronf and a lil scoop on the side. When my buddy's pulled up the first thing I thought was kool a Z06..The next thing I thought was ...HMMMM..Dosent look to much different from my 04 C5 that was parked in that same spot fpr a few years...
As to the rt10 having no ass...Thats true theirs no fancy wing like the GTS..BUT...When it comes to looking low and wide..That same flat ass really gets the low/wide/exotic look done..

The ZO6 is like a flat chested, pale white girl with lots of muscle in her legs. She sure can run, but she doesn't look good doing it!

So a lil scoop in the front or side or a 1 inch black nub on the back really dosent do a lot..Still looks like a vette..
Now a c6z06 compared to a SRT10 would be a lot closer..They look a lot alike..but against a gen 2 viper the c6z06 looks boring..
I have to take double takes at nearly every C6 I see on the freeway to determine if it's a C6 or a c6z06...
When people see my viper they no what it is..Theirs no lesser imitation

Exactly...It looks just like the other 10 C6's i saw this week..For 73K I should be getting somthing special. My rt10 was 73K back in 1999 and I can see why. I havent seen another one of any color in the past year of ownership. As a matter of fact..Not counting mine Ive seen 5 Vipers driving on the street of any stlle/generation in my whole life.
Ive already seen more C6Z06's in the past year than I have vipers in my life.
You could put a monster engine in the GT500 and have it runnin 10's bone stock. Id still rather tell people I drive a Corvette. likewise the same holds true for the Z06. You can put a 427 engine in there. Id still rather be driving a viper.....
But hey the cars fast..So much respect..Just how fast ill be finding out soon enough
Where in Hawaii are you guys? I know Howfast has Mike's old car. I use to live in Hawaii and might be moving back to Maui in a few months for work and will be bringing my Blue and white with me.
BTW, on the same day and same track, we had a guy who is a decent racer in AZ run his Z06 (he has 2 of them) and he ran somewhere in the low 12s and my car ripped off a 11.7 (I forgot the trap speed) with over 100 degrees out. But I know for a fact that my car may have another .3 to .5 left. Of course my car is not stock, but it is not far from bolt-ons and it should have another 50rwhp after tuning.
So to answer your thread, if drivers are the same. You should be able to hand him his ass with heads/full exhaust/rockers and some tuning. If not, let me know and when I get back there and get settled, I will build you a bad ass N/A engine that will put out over 500RWHP with the stock 708 cam with no tuning.
BTW, Mike told me that they closed the track at Campbell Industrial Park. So where is everyone racing now?

Dude im with you on that one..The FGT screams exotic in every since of the word...But the one he went and looked at was some commerorative one that was a funky blue orange or somth other horendous color combo that just really turned him off.
Then the other red one hesaw just happenned to e surrounded by a few super exotics including a TT saleen. He said the FGT just disapeared. But honestly a TT saleen will make just about anything disapear. So you cant blame the guy..
Then theirs the vids os supposedly stock Z06's pullin FGT's on the freeway...Put it all together and the FGT just didnt seem that great to him...
