i just purchased my first viper. 97 gts red in great cond. 50k miles. i have wanted one for a long time now. i can finally afford it. (hopefully)
i can't believe how well the car drives. i love it. are there any tampa people around that knows about the vipers? the a/c isn't working at the moment and maybe someone can help me figure the problem.. i am somewhat mechanically inclined so im sure i can find it but its always nice having someone that has had a viper awhile.. hopefully i will be getting all my mods soon.
Post some pictures, but Chuck is from Tampa and has two Vipers. Also, Larry Macedo at Macedo Motorsports can get you fixed up with the A/C, 407-246-6511.
For a simple air conditioning problem he is better off hitting a local AC shop. There are several large ones in my area and cheaper then the dealer and they have extensive inventories. I am sure Tampa has to have some also.
First thing to check for an A/C problem is the vacuum line on the passenger side that runs just under the cowl. It's a small hardline. I believe that is what is used to actualte the diverter flaps in the HVAC system and it sometimes works it's way off it's rubber elbow. At least, that's what happend with my first RT/10. I put that back and the A/C was ice cold again.

im in tampa fl. and this car is amazing. just driving it around people stare at it like they have never seen one before. im going to fill the freon and put some dye in it and see where the leak is at this weekend. hopefully its something minor. if i can't find the leak i will take it to a shop around here to fix it. and as far as mods i will be calling heffner. i have heard alot of good stuff from him.. also elitevipers is here in riverview i heard they are good.

Amin!! I can attest to that,. I thought I was being helpful by posting the fact that I am in the process of trying to get a TT kit developed for less than what's being offered out there, not knowing that are die hard worshippers in here. I was consequently attacked for suggesting that there are others that can develop and install TT kits for less than what thier Gods are charging. I avoid starting threads around here now. Good luck with your endeavors.
ok guys i will be at any of the meets that go on..
also i found the a/c problem. i filled it with freon and dye and like 1sec later i heard hissing coming from the motor bay and im like what the f"" and it took me like 5 sec to find it.. the a/c hose coming from the compressor has a nice size leak in it i just see the dye coming out without a problem.. it will be getting fixed tody woohoo a/c for the weekend
