So I owned 3 vipers so far, 2 rt's and a venom 600 gts. Now the gts gets like 90% of everyones attention which is alot more then the rt's ever got. Is it due to the HRE 546 rims and Henessey aerobody kit. Can those 3 items make all the difference? I had a red rt which got alot of attention more then the black one but nothing like the saphire blue venom. Does that mean if I go back to a regular GTS that there will be less attention without those parts?
I know this post sounds stupid but I caught myself thinking about it today.
I've got no idea. All I know is that a friend here at work has a new 911 turbo. We both brought our cars in one day, switched, and drove around a bit to see what the other guy's car was like. Just as my friend mentioned that the Viper gets a lot of looks while driving my car, someone drove by looking at the car and slammed into another car that had stopped at a light.
I think that in the RT, I noticed people gawking more because I was out in the open rather than the GTS where I can't see people as well walking by the car because I have the roof over me.
I guess it depends where you live.... Before I got my Viper GTS, I probably only saw a few on the road in a 10 year span (Pittsburgh, PA). So in this area, people break there necks to try and get a look... Not to mention the average Joe doesn't know the difference between a John H. Viper with wheels/body kit, or a OEM Viper. They are just freak'in out that it is a Viper. I wouldn't worry....
I have a friend with a blue gts completely "BLACKED OUT" and I have a yellow rt10 in mint lowered but nothing too much extra. we took them out together one night during a "crusing" fest and parked. I got virtually all of the attention. I am on a beach and so the open cabin seems to attract. HOWEVER, a gts looks great. I like them both the same. I'll be honest, I only got the rt10 because I love targas, etc. My friend's gts gets so damn HOT! Is that common? Rt's cool off pretty well. I have a hard top which looks prettty mean. from the back the rt looks so much "flatter" and wide even next to a gts (optical illusion, I assure you), and a gts seems to be more "racecar looking" Sounds silly trying to describe them. Just my 2 cents worth.

It IS amazing how different the cars look when viewed from the rear, isn't it? The rear bodywork on the GTS is actually slightly wider than the RT. The SRT I had was very "chunky" and tall through the midsection. This definitely took away from the appearance of wideness.
Actually it's probably the Venom pieces. I just drove a 94 RT in red with a huge front splitter in carbon fiber, and this RT (had a hard top on)(it's lowered as well), got the most attention that I have ever witnessed. I have driven about every color and this one drew the most attention.
