Anyone in the Chicago area with a supercharger on their Gen II? Would like to check it out before pulling the trigger on having this done to my own car.
Not sure? I have read a lot on both of these and they both seem to have their advantages to some degree. That is why I am throwing out the search for someone who might have one...would be cool to find 2 cars with one of each for comparison.
Gonna call UGR to talk to Kevin for his input before the week is out...would like to get the benefits of all of the HP that I can squeeze out of this...but also need to keep the car mechanically reliable. Have any recommendations?
Roofie has his DLM unit for sale. Believe his price was 7500 OBO. That is a deal hard to pass up. I think his was an all inclusive deal as well (fuel components etc.) If you speak to Kevin, he too will praise the paxton kit over the Roe. Those guys have had some tremendous results (2manytoys-Brian) with that kit not to love it. I also believe SRK's new paxton setup done by them will not disappoint with power well into the 800-900 range. My guess, if you want to extract every bit of power out of the stock cubes, in a supercharged fashion, you only have one choice. PAXTON. The Roe is great up until 650 tops. Anything greater then that and your really in a territory few have success. Good luck with the new project whichever way you choose to go. pm me if you want any further advice, Josh
in terms of max power output, you get much bigger power from a paxton vs. roe. but keep in mind the "creampuff" status of your car unless your getting into changing engine internals.
in regards to the dollars he is spending in a supercharger to begin with, for him not to upgrade/freshen up the top end would be just plain dumb. I had assumed he was doing that but good point non the less.
I have built motors for both, I have HP numbers and owner feedback on both systems.
If you would like to give me a call I would be happy to go over them with you.

Another valid question is how the Roe's area under the curve compares with the Paxton. A ROE making 600 may feel (and be) just as fast as a Paxton making 650 or 675. However, a ROE heatsoaks like a mother, whereas the Paxton is a little better in that regard.
But, with the W/M on the Roe, and the massive TQ off the line, I think the Roe will put down better numbers on the 1/4 mile, Paxton puts down better numbers on the dyno(talking about a DITY install). If you're going to use a tuner, Paxton will win both. Just depends on how much you want to spend.
Was riding in a 98GTS with just headers, cat back, smooth tubes and vec 2 (484rwhp 543 rwtq) and a good driver, against a 97 GTs with Roe and W/M (615rwhp not sure on the tq).....Was not impressed with that setup. Wasn't much faster than the NA car through 4th.......may have been diff through 5th but thats a lot of heat to put throught that motor too at that point.
What gains are you looking for, what type of driving do you mainly do?

no offense, but there musta been something off with that ROE car that day. A 615RWHP ROE car will KILL a 484RWHP N/A car on the type of roll-on you're mentioning. The torque on that ROE car was probably over 650RWT with more area under to boot...'shoulda' been a lot more than just "not much faster."
I agree, but shoulda and are aren't the same as we all know.....MC knows the two vipers I'm talkin of (Silver GTS and sean's b/w). Hold tyte's car was a true freak though....
Carlin how's your car runnin, haven't seen ya in forever

Hey Tom!
Cars running GREAT! I love the Roe setup as it drives like stock and the power is amazing. We should meet up soon!

If you've got the coin, call Kevin at underground. He was selling a used Gen 2 TT setup for a customer, might still have it. They were asking 12k for the TT kit which is a steal. Good luck.
