Buying a 2000 GTS question/lettering above exhaust
This weekend my boss let me borrow his gunmetal gray striped 2000 GTS. He's attempting to sell it to me, and he's doing a good job Been having a hell of a time in it.
I'm hoping some of you long-time owners can help me. How much do you spend on maintenance annually?
It's pretty much a stock machine. Has 70k miles and a full btb warranty for 5 years. Brand new rears. So expenses should be standard maint. only.
Thanks, hopefully I'll be joining your ranks shortly. Here's 2 shots I took, and one more of what the previous owner had just above the exhaust, which I thought was funny. I'm going to change what it says, not sure what yet. Anyone else have something written on this spot, and if so, what? Seems designed for this.
If you get it for $35K, yes. Although most will say it is a high mileage car, that doesn't concern me anymore. If taken care of, they are stout and will last a lifetime.
As far as Vipers go, that is on the high side, of the mileage curve. But mechanically speaking, 70k miles is absolutely nothing.. If fluid changes, etc were kept current. I see no reason these Vipers can't go 250k and beyond, without a teardown. The great thing about this car is, you wont be afraid to actually use it.. Unlike the 3,000 mile creampuffs that never leave the garage. Buy it, thats a steal..

Reason: typo
Buy it yesterday and don't worry about maintanence costs. Ask the owner when was the last time all fluids have been changed that way you know when to change them yourself and then get AB's plug wires if they haven't been changed yet. Seriously buy it now or you'll be seeing posts from 99rt/10 with smilies and photos of your car
It's looking good--barring unforeseen problems, I'll have the car in my possession with new fluids, temp gauge fixed (was broken), and lettering off this week!
hostile, you're right, it's in the Triad parking lot right now.
