Rebuilt And Better Than Ever!

After breaking a timing chain earlier this year we have finally finished our rebuild and are ready to hit the track again. We have added a balance pipe between the two banks which gave us a gain of 30hp and 20 foot pounds of torque. The motor is still standard bore and stroke NA and still has standard rocker gear.

Our first test is tomorrow so hopefully all goes well

Great results for an NA motor - but it looks like a calculated flywheel HP estimate based on actual rwhp readings... is this true? If so - what was the actual rwhp?

On a Viper flywheel hp will be about 1.15 x rwhp. It won't be more than that.

Get some T & D roller rockers on that beast - you'll pick up hp at your shift points - that's gotta be good on lap times.

good luck with testing and racing

508 KW at the wheels or 692ps. Intake is ported factory runners, custom plenum's twin 100mm throttle bodies. Exhaust balance pipe is 3 in.

Do you have any pictures of how and where you installed the balance pipe? Also, if you need a set of Moper 1.7 RR, I have a set. Willing to let it go for $840!

Balance Pipe

I will post some pics up next week of the balance pipe setup.
Testing went well, the new motor is STRONG. We are just playing around with diff ratios as we have ditched the factory diff for a winters quick change IRS system.

Balance Pipe

Here are the pics of the balance pipe as requested. We are running a drysump setup so not sure on how much clearance you would have running a standard sump. We gained 30 hp and 15 foot pounds of torque with this setup.

I see that the tube is flattened under the oilpan, which I expected. What diameter did it start out - 50mm?
