Re: plug wires?

The Mopar performance wires definitely cause a static in the stereo system. I now have MSD wires with no problem.

Re: plug wires?

Most go with the MSD 8.8mm - low resistance - spiral wound wire over carbon
impregnated fiber - Roe sells them for around $70 a set

Re: plug wires?

I like the way the MSD connectors attach to the wires.
It's unlike most of the other wires I've seen - the connector actually clamps
to the wire separately from the insulator clamp.

Re: plug wires?

Just make sure to add extra insulation around the plug connector to
shield it from the headers.

Re: plug wires?

I have the MSD 8.8 mm wires - they are nice, perform well and look good.

(Smoke has the 10.0 mm - not that being second best means anything)

Re: plug wires?

I have the magencore 10mm wires. I like them, they have no notable noise. I went to a car show and saw some HUGE 12mm moroso wires for a V8.....bet those would look great cut to a custom lenth in a Viper.

I tried the Mopar blue wires, and got radio/CD static, so I went back to using stock wires. Nothing like wasting $100

Re: plug wires?

Moroso or Magnecor will make custom wire sets, not much more than a regular priced AM set...Magnecor only wanted $160 for a custom set...but the guy was a dick about it...

At what thickness does the weight of a set of wires begin to affect your 1/4 mile times?

I'm running Magnacore 8.5s on my car, and had them on my '93 RT too. No electrical noise.
