I just finished putting a Roe Supercharger on my 2001 GTS (creampuff) has a 5psi pully. I have 3 cards programmed for the VECII, the 2 with the 6Degree timing retard ping badly, the one programmed for 91 octane gas (9 degree) works better but pings as i am getting on the gas between 3 to 4K RPM. I have stock plugs, k&n, smooth tubes, belanger headers, random tech cats, b&b exhaust, t&d rockers. need some advice on what the problem could be.
Do you have a laptop / Wideband / etc? If so, I would check timing in that area, check fuel (data log).
There is somewhat of a 'common' issue of slight detonation between that area from what I have seen from otheres tunes, but on 5psi you should be able to get rid of it. Do you have W/M?

Does Roe say the plugs need to be gapped or changed(colder)? The Vec II is a piggyback, so you might check your wiring. Are your connections soldered? Also make sure the MAF and O2 sensors are good. Is the VecII mounted in the cabin where it should be? The only other thing I can think of is your stock computer may not have adjusted to the changes yet. I don't have a s/c on my GTS, but I've had many other modded FI cars and these are usually the culprits.

Big C
The vec II doesn't need to be mounted in the cab...and the PCM fuel tables are not being used during open loop, so adaptives do not play a part.
I would however change your plugs...I use the NGK BKR7E. If that is too cold for you, Use the BKR6E
Also reset PCM so it relearns, I installed my Roe and had all types of issues at first with detonation. Reset PCM, ditto on soldering all connections and make sure you are only running Premium fuel. Hopefully you changed to the lower stat and burped the system well. Post water temp too, cause if it is high, this will just make a problem worse. Once you get this running, you will be happy I'm sure but be careful not to drive on it and get help here or from Sean Roe ASAP before we have to ship you a bucket for your engine parts.

probably, but after he grenades his motor then might he listen to the crowd here.
I have to agree with ya on that
Put some cooler plugs in there (NGK BKR7E), get a wideband, and log it!! If your detonating while in boost, your playing with fire ..heheh no pun intended
