stock/tubes@no cats/1.7 RR/ dynos

Got my 99 viper in aug 2006 w/ 26K miles on it..

took it to my local dyno shop and dynoed 410 rwhp and 465 rwt SAE on a dyno jet...

4 months later I added smooth tubes and got rid of the cats for off road pipes. took it to the same dyno and put down 428 rwhp and 473 rwt SAE..

Then yesterday had a buddy install some 1.7 roller rockers..( Harland sharps) Took it back to the same dyno and put down 440 rwhp and 482 rwt SAE. Was expecting around 5 rwhp more with the roller rockers. But 12 rwhp is still worth a tenth and a mph in the 1/4 mile.So I wont complain..

Well my check engine light is still on from removing the cats. not sure if this effects my numbers any or not. Possibly adding long tube headers here shortly ( that ones still up in the air)...

Got an AEM sitting in my closet. Waiting for a feriend to come at the end of the month and install/tune it..Ill redyno right after his AEM tune

I wish I would have seen what my motor put out bone stock, but I bought the car used. My 94' RT/10 only puts out 406HP and 470TQ. Mods in my sig. I wonder if 1.7 rockers will do me some good?

when you do the long tubes you will notice the hq/tq curve come on much sooner more then you will notice the max number raise. i really want to see the graph before and after the header install!

i did belanger on mine & the fit/finish is amazing. hp/tq comes on sooner & feels stronger over the whole curve. i didnt dyno before/after though

with all those mods the aem will pick up a ton of power for you

I still have the 100% bone stock Exhaust and muffler...However..The cat and pre muffler under the side sills were replaced by one 2 foot long straight pipe...Great mod for picking up 10-12 rwhp and GREATLY improving drivability.

Im really on the fence about purchasing a buddies Long tubes..

Ive already been given 4 grand as my Bday present...

2600 for an AEM plus 400 for install and tune=$3000

Plus the 1000 i just spent on 1.7RR's plus rods and install comes out to 4 grand for my Bday so far all together..

My wife is saying i can spend 1000 more on what ever i want. But as bad as I want the headers. id feel like an complte ass knowing my wife gave me 5 grand all together for my bday and I spent every dime on my self..

So Im thinking about eighter just buying my kids a nintendo Wii and saying she can use the left over 800$ for her self..Or just spending the remaining $1000 on a decent flat screen HDTV that we can both enjoy.

But man oh man it's just so tempting to pay pal my buddy the grand and get the install under way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could go do another dyno with them and hope for 450-455 rwhp. And then watch it all come together with the AEM tune at the end of this month shooting for 470 rwhp bolt ons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea Id be a greedy bastard. But it would be for the good of the viper community to see what these mods are truly worth one by one..

You'd have done better with the headers instead of the rockers at this stage of the game. Now, you almost HAVE to do the headers.
