Mike is right Par. I figured that those who could answer would know. They make very trick sheet metal intakes. I had them on my Super Comp engines. Works of art that function better then they look.
Here is an example of some- (no Viper intake pics)
I know all their other manifolds work very well so why not one for the V10? It is no magical engine, nothing high-tech or out of the ordinary about it.
I find it very hard to believe that someone can't make a manifold that works better then stock. I guess the right people have not tried yet.
The stock manifold is not perfect and can be improved on, we will just wait and see who does it. Unless Hogans is an improvement and it not yet known to the Viper world just yet?
I have info and custom spec sheet being sent to me right now from Tim Hogan. This should shed some light on things.
And the prices allow you to sit down after buying it, not stand from taking deep up the ass.
V10 $2600
V10 Cross Ram $3200
Hell, I hope I am the first one to try one. That just might be an advantage...
Don't nobody try it, I will be the one to do it. But it may take time...
I have heard the same thing Gary but I would like proof of what is going on, or not going on. Flow numbers and dyno results mean more to me then here say. Which is all I can seem find on the subject.
I don't expect the tuners to give away secrets or numbers they do not wish to, just give me "some proof".
Head porting and intake work are a "black art", but I'll be damned if the stock intake can't be improved on, and a replacement made at a reasonable cost.
I bet a larger plenum intake would be beneficial for forced induction, but why has one not been produced and proven to work?
Just trying to get a technical discussion going here.
I thank all who took the time to answer, but I still would like to find some results.
I just got the info from Hogan's on their Viper intake manifolds. Sweet looking items they have there.
Maybe I will go out and buy a scanner to post the pics and info here. That is if anyone is interested...
Along with the Catalog and Viper info I also received a order form with a blueprint of a Viper head to give them the specs they need for making the intake up.
Not for the Viper head but it wil give you an idea of what it is like.
