Unhappy Need Help With a Gen I Hardtop!!!

Hey, I bought what I think is a mopar hardtop off a '95 RT/10 for my '94 RT/10. It secures to the rollbar by removing the back pad and bolting into the rollbar with 2 hexscrews, and snaps into the 2 front windshield frame holes. Now my problem is I can get it on in the back and the front just does not want to go in. I can push down on the corner and it seems like it seats i but I can't get the locks to secure. I was wondering if anyone had this problem or if anyone can give me advice on it?

There were some minor changes to the lockdown pin lengths thru the years. I am betting that the 95 top has shorter pins than the 94. You need to either purchase(very expensive) new pins or modify (extend) the ones you have. Good luck,

yep, pin lenghts were all differant, that is why Biff at Vipermania's top's are adjustable. You may have to have someone weld a pc on.

On another note, I have the Mopar top on my 95 and the front latches have to be pushed hard as hell to get them to latch.

Also, make sure you have the drivers side latch to the right when placing the top on, and then push hard to the left to latch. The passenger side is the opposite, latch must be to the left when setting in place and then pushed to the right to latch.

I just confirmed this on my Mopar top. In summary, both latches inward when placing on car, then to secure they will have to be pushed outward.

Good luck, hope this helps. I always thought the 94 and 95 tops were the same.

They are? DUH!!! I have been fighting w/ my VMania hardtop since I bought it! I only use it for the track, which isn't that often, but it takes a while to get it latched every time. Maybe I should look into the adjustment part!

they are the same, but the pin lengths varied. I had this problem with mind and had to call Biff. I even heard some of the same year gen 1's varied

I had bought a '95 hardtop for my '94 and the pin lengths were too short also.. you have a couple options.. 1: scavenge the pins from your soft-top 2. see if Vmania will sell you a set of pins. option 1 being the quick and easy route of course.
