GenII vs. GenIII intake

So I've got the opportunity to put a GenIII intake on my GenII. Has anyone documented a positive or negative impact of doing so? Stock, side-by-side, which one flows better?

I'd have to imagine that if it were worth a darn people would have done it by now...

whatcha' think?

I heard that. but the GenIII is easier to port than the GenII. So would a ported GenIII be better than the GenII?

decisions decisions...

Having a single throttle body would make the car less temperamental I suppose. How much modification needs to be made to the hood though? It is my understanding there is a clearance issue.

No clearance issue. Don't ask me how I know that.

I'd think that you'd need fuel rails as well... but if the hood closes (thanks gary!) then that would be it.

hum...

The hood will close. I have heard + and - comments about it regarding torque loss. I would like to know real world experience too because I have looked into the genIII intakes as well.

Gen 3 didn't work so well on the AM RT. Since Joe's car is a 76 TT their wouldn't be the same problems as trying to run all motor with it. That's a car TNT did, and that was their "flagship" sheet metal intake they used on their king snake packages.

Anyone have a GEN II intake in pristine condition they want to sell? If not, anyone know where to buy one new or used besides the one available at the local dodge dealer for $$$$$?

I have one(my old one off the 99). I really don't want to part with it, but for the right offer......................

Might want to check with the regulars:
Paul=800-338-4002
Larry=viperpartslarry.com

If they can't help you out, PM me. I am curious as to what they are asking for an intake.

The Gen 2 intake that came off BR is just sitting on the shelf. The car has 299 miles on it. Should fit your description.
