Irs Race, Any Competition For Viper?

Let me start off by saying i think the idea for this IRS showdown is a great idea for comparing some of these fast ass street cars. With that being said I think it would be intresting to start comparing the 1/4 mile records for these IRS cars. I know right now as far as six speeds go the closest to the viper record would be RYAN( i only race if the odds are in my favor) WOON.

What i was wondering is how the 03 and 04 cobra's stacked up as far as six speed 1/4 mile times. Im not for sure but i dont think any of them are in the 8's even with a automatic and certainly not with a six speed.

And last but not least how about the vettes? I think the fastest they have gone with a six speed was a LPE TT vette that did a 9.4. Neways lets hear from some of these other camps and see what times they are running or if any body here knows about some of these vettes and cobra's chime in and lets compare........ LET THE SHIT TALKING BEGIN.

03/04 is a hunk of junk IRS. It was a total afterthought putting that rear-end in there. Go look at one. I mean one of the mounting points is the Aluminum COVER (I know there are braces to help support it). The first mod for the 03/04's that want to go low 10's or sub 10's is a solid rear, so I would count them out.

cobra's have gone that fast, 9's anyway. And not sure about the vette record but Paul on here ran 8's with his 6 speed. If he didnt I stand corrected but I do know his auto setup was deep in the 8s in his black cartek z06.

As of right now there's only one upgrade (DSS Level 5's will hold 950ft lbs) to the IRS. Not many cobra guys want to go faster than 9's (or have the funds). Also, it's no secret that you're dealing with a completely different income bracket and im sure most Cobra owner's if given the opportunity would rather have the Viper. I think there will be some getting their numbers up there this coming year (myself included), but highly doubt any will run 7's, let alone low 8's...I for one would love to be running low 8's in a full weight 302ci motor, but only time will tell...

I'm not a mudstain guy, but from what I understand the 03/04 Cobra with the IRS still has the brackets for the 8.8 live axle. So it's a bolt in, cheap ass swap and therefore very popular.

yup, cam gear broke on the new motor, should be coming back to us sometime in the next few weeks...never got to shoot for 1000 just yet on that stock motor...did make 800+ though ...going auto though, so who knows, hopefully it'll see 1000+ through the auto ...not to shabby for a small motor
