John, there are SEVERAL cars coming to the TX2K7 event the weekend before that have indicated an interest in staying the next week and going to the TX Mile. Thanks for the post!!!

Thanks. It says roll bar if you plan to go faster than 190. I could just click off a couple of 180mph runs and nail it once I get the feel for it, and then get kicked out. Sounds hairy.
Gary, what we've found in the past is that the organizers of the TX Mile make it a point to work with each racer on an individual basis. If you can show good faith with a bar, proper safety equipment, etc....they tend to work with you.

I just hate the idea of putting any bar in the car. We will see. I am still considering the bolt in deal. We'll see.

Just take a GPS unit with you in the car, and get your own speed. I carry a portable GPS unit in my car now for the high speed runs to see what speed I hit.
Or you could do it on a highway near your house and watch the speedo. My thinking is to go to a real world event beyond just Vipers, play by the rules and win the whole damn thing. Good luck to Gary and any other Vipers.
