it is absolutely none of our business what a retailer pays for their product. just because you know, doesnt give any right to call him out.
maybe those who are mad are only mad that they didnt buy it to flip it themselves now that they see the cars actual market value.
the service of buying something from a reputable vender that you can count on to filter out the shitty products for you is priceless. if all you're interested in is saving a buck.. well i wouldnt go around advertising that by attacking venders, it makes you look kinda cheap. business owners cant stand the customers who think they arent allowed to make money - those are the clients they regret. I would hate to be that guy.
I personally call a man that can buy something at or slightly below market price and sell it above what the market has shown recently is.....a good businessman Look how many dealers are taking Vipers on trade for $32K - $34K and then selling them for $45K+. I think Bernie should be commended for making a wise business decision and helping our market value rise.
Bernie please sell the next one for $70K ...as it will continue to help the value of these cars.
I understand the costs of operating a business and the risks that are taken when acquiring assets that may/may not sell in a reasonable time frame. I just can't see how any business owner would disagree with this logic.
By the way, if there are any more pristine low mile BW GTS's for mid $40's PLEASE PM me. My wife may be pissed but I may just have to buy another for that price.
For those who have chosen to dog pile on this thread and support capitalism, at its finest, please let us know when YOU have purchased the GTS for the $55K price.
Once again I already have a 96 GTS in the garage so I'm not upset that I didn't purchase this one when it was on the VCA.

First of all you are the definition of a DICK!!!!
Second of all "Mr. I have a 1996 B/W in my garage with only 2K on it", go drive the dang thing!!!
Third of all "Mr. I have a 1996 B/W in my garage with only 2K on it", should I report my cleaning lady to the authorities? When she cleans my home, she charges me $120, and only spends like $0.50 on supplys. Thats a 240% mark up, BJMotors on the otherhand, (and this is IF he had no other expenses other then the price of the car he purchaed, and IF he got full asking price) he would make 13.64%. He'll probably make closer to 10%.
And another thing "Mr. I have a 1996 B/W in my garage with only 2K on it", it's none of your business what he sells a car for. A car will sell for whatever the market will bare.
And don't you go trying to sell that home of yours with that 1996 B/W in in the garage with only 2K on it, for too much more then you paid for it 10 years ago, you wouldn't want to be a dick, and a hypocrite now would you?

I put MY money, and MY time, and brought MY skills, and MY organizational efforts to bear upon the opportunity and I can then sell it (or not) at whatever price that I can get for it. Hopefully, the most possible.
In fact, I think BJMotors ought to buy up every single used Viper on planet Earth and then sit there with folded-arms and a scowl on his face and make people grovel and crawl and beg and plead with him to sell his cars to them. If he can do it, more power to him. HE'S TAKING THE RISK, AND THE TIME, AND THE EFFORT TO DO IT, so he should reap the rewards (or suffer the consequences) of those actions.
I assume the Redsled must be engaged in charity work, and doesn't grasp the concept of "costs" and "profits" and things like that. Maybe BJ can hire him to be an "honest" salesman and pay him commission based on the profit that is made on each of his sales. How much ya' wanna bet that his tune changes really fast...............
There is no such thing as a "fair" price for any object. Price is merely an expression of the value that someone perceives in a product or service. That perception differs for different people, and can change over time due to a variety of factors.
Sledhead, perhaps what you are really complaining about is how foolish you believe someone is for buying a car at the price that BJ sells them at? or maybe you feel that the seller of the car on the VCA was a dummy because he perceived a lower value to the car than others did? Just out of curiosity, what do you think a "fair" price for that car is? And how about for your own car?
I sold my BB to Bernie over the phone. He paid a more than fair price knowing the car was immaculate. Get a shipping quote these days, and you will realize that shipping will run you a good 2 grand depending on location. Bernie also will not sell anything without it being perfect, so if a wheel needs replaced etc....it gets done prior to sale. Business is business. I doubt Bernie is getting rich if that is what bothers you Redsled. Making 10% on a 50K investment is hardly stealing others blind.
Now for the reason that I would buy a car with the Bernie stamp of approval:
1. I know I don't even need to bother going out to look at the car. I save several hundred in travel.
2. Time is money for me. Why waste time trying to save a few grand when I could make more with the time wasted on seeing several ragged out cars.
3. Doing business with a handshake in this day in age is priceless.
Thanks for your words of wisdom chacal. You are are a magician with words. Although your last comments aren't as great as these....
"Okay, I'm new, and I'm dumb. There, that's outta the way."
That was the smartest thing you've said since being on this board.
Thank you for getting in on this thread
Your Jesus H Christ on a popsickle stick opening is top notch. Sounds like you stole that line from the drill sargeant on "Full Metal Jacket"
Now go away. Merry Christmas

Headsled, you are more than welcome! I am flattered that you enjoyed my comments.
I do not know where the JHC quote is from.....I read it somehwere once, and it sounded appropriate to this situation, so I used it here to express a certain....what?.....INCREDULITY regarding the psoitions that you took on this subject.
Oh, and Merry Christmas to you, too!
P.S. I'm not going anywhere very soon, better get used to me....
