I hope you guys won't think less of me for doing so but today I did a terrible thing. A customer called me and expressed that he was in need of a part for his Viper. I know that I should have just told him to call the manufacturer and buy it directly at my discounted price but I didn't. I ordered it from the manufacturer myself and then shipped it to the customer but not before tacking on a 20% markup. To top it off this is not the first time that I have committed this heinous crime, I've probably done it thousands of times and you know what? I'll do it again if given the chance. To top it off I do this for my own selfish reasons like having to feed my family, pay bills and such. I hope you guys will find it in your hearts to forgive me for this.

I think Redsled's right on the money, even if others here don't. Yeah it's supply and demand, business, capitalism, and all that, but there is a difference between mark up to cover cost, making a profit, and then price gouging. I find it hard to believe you spent $7k, and some odd dollars, to get that car presentable enough for resale. If it's strictly a business deal and you're looking to make a buck say so, don't skirt the issue with a "feeding my family" defense. It's the cornerstone of all Nigerian scammer excuses and no one with half a brain buys it anyways when you're product is $10k over market...
Actually I think mid 50's is right on the money for a clean 96. Are you alleging that it should be more like mid 40's? Because that sounds low to me. Bernie is a supporting vendor of this site. all of his Vipers are accurately represented and of course you don't have to buy it if you don't want to so exactly what is your problem?

Speaking of turbo systems (and totally off topic) I raced that FordGT you put the turbo in from a roll last weekend (Long Island) on a flat stretch of road in my stock GTS. That car is pure evil. He put ten car lengths on me in about 3 seconds from a 80MPH role....fastest car I have ever seen on the street.

Mid 40's is pretty much what I've been seeing them go for. Not that it matters since it's only worth what someone is willing to pay and apparently the car is sold, so someone was willing to pay. As far as being a supporting vendor, that neither means shit to me or is a valid defense for anything really. Last I heard Hennessey was a supporting vendor and he has quite the cult following at the complaint department. All that it means to me is that you have enough money to buy a title on a message board, it doesn't bolster you to rock star status, at least not in my book. My problem, as you put it, is the sly way in which he tried to wiggle out of Redsled's initial question. Other than that I could really give less of a shit one way or the other.
