I have 6 months and over 9,000 miles on my 5 pound Roe. No drag races. 80 track miles, a couple of autocrosses. No water/meth. No problems. I did not monkey with any spark, but changed the stock card AF considerably.
We now own another Roe blower car which was installed in 2003. 8,000 miles on this set up with a 5 pounder and no water/meth. No problems. I've only put about 1300 miles on this car since purchase.
I'm told that tuning a water/meth car can be a bit more complicated.
Many say that the 5 pound set up is not worth the expense. I guess I'm the exception. It works well enough for me -- 2 times. I'm quite satisfied with the power gains.
how did/is the motor holding up with the cast pistons? i've got an 02 and i'm debating on Roe or Paxton. Seems like santas gonna be nice to me this year but i'm still not sure what i'm going with. i don't want to go into the bottom end of the motor yet cause i still have a few years on the factory warranty. i thought the highest pulley you could run on a cremepuff was 5lb.
You can run the 6.5 pulley with the water meth, makes a difference. I have 12,000 miles on the motor with the Roe on it. Probably 200+ dragstrip passes and some roadcourse and speedway action. I drove it back from N. Carolina to Florida and a few 1000+ mile trips, runs great. Switching to Forged psitons now and I'm gonna go up on the boost, playing with the idea of putting two turbos instead, juts not sure. The Roe is a great bang for the buck, but have it tuned on dyno by someone good..
Bring your best Paxton car to FL.....I'm taking names and kicking ass
Hell, bring a turbo ca.......wait, nevermind :bawling:
HEY TOUGH GIRL------ 2TONETTA2 CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW PART TIME JOB WITH KEVIN AND DR ROOF.PLEASE MAKE SURE U SHOW UP WITH YOUR RECORD BREAKING ROE SC/400 SHOT/METH ALCOHOL WALMART SPECIAL.WE WILL KICK YOUR ASS BACK FROM FLORIDA TO GEORGIA..........HOO FAKING HA!...................
Does anyone know where I could get it dyno tuned near NJ? If I remember, there was someone in Maryland that has a dyno that does Vipers, but I can't remember. My Roe runs good with the 8 lb+meth, but a few more HP is always good :-) Since I never had it dynoed, that would be kewl to see how it looks too. Thanks
i think there is a guy in central jersey for ya to tune the VEC2. its Bob Ida from the old bridge area. give him a call.

I watched Ronnie ,(RSI 950) run a 9.5 last night at SAR while we were testing and tuning , but he runs a Paxton.
Yeah, there's obviously a lot more HP potential in the paxton kits than roe's...being it's a centrifugal compressor that can potentially flow more CFM's.

Can you please tell us more on this guy?? I live in Maryland myself and am VERY interested in finding and experienced tuner for the VEC II on vipers, if anyone can chime in on this I would be very appreciative...thanks.
i didnt see what i remember seeing but give him a call. i know he used to have something that looked just like the VEC2. i even sent it to sean roe once and he said he never heard of him but thought it was same or at least very similiar. but i have heard he can tune and has his own dyno. if ya go, let me know and i'll meet ya there.
Thanks Plum, I just called and left a message and I will let you know. Their website loooks like that might be a good hook up! :-) My car runs good now, but without tuning, I know I am missing a few HP or so and since I drive this puppy, I want it to run as good as reasonably possible. Gary
