Corvette to Viper

Guys, I'm new and I'm making the conversion!
Selling my C5 Corvette Coupe and got my heart set on either a 2003 or 2004 Viper SRT 10.
Hope this forum is as cool as the Corvette Forum.
Look forward to joining the family!

David

You will not regret it, I had an 02 vette vert, as nice as the vette was, it is nothing like the viper. It is an amazing car!

Welcome and I hope you make the jump soon....

Kinda funny cas when i made the jump a few months ago..The KBB said my 2004 C5 coupe was only worth 3-4 grand less than my 99 rt10...So I thought that besides the viper being worth slightly more. It was an even trade.

But the way I feel when I drive my Viper makes it feel like im driving a car that is worth a hundred grand more than the Vette....

And stock for stock the vipers 12.2 at 118 mph (on average) made my auto 2.73 geared vettes 13.5 at 104 ( on average) seem pretty limp wristed.

Then theirs just the way the Viper looks in general. I got pretty tired of women ( and some men) thinking my 50,500 ( msrp) Vette was a 30 grand camaro or fire bird..But I got the nice camaro comment a little to often for my liking...

The Viper on the other hand..Well i get the whats that????? Question...Some people think it's an old school cobra..Some people think it's a ferrari...

But no one ever confuses it with a 30 grand f body....

Now back to the price differance...According to the KBB a few months ago the 99 rt10 Viper was worth 38K and my 2004 c5 was worth 35K....

But that (like i thought at the time of purchase) is no were near the reality..

When I put my white 2004 Vette in the local paper their were 2 other white 2004 Vettes competing with it and 4 other red/black/yellow c5's...

Perfect condition 16 K mile vette with 5 grand in head/cam mods sold for 34 grand ( 2 grand below book)....

On the other hand..my viper ( wich is only one of ten-fifteen here on the island of oahu hawaii)...can sell for 45 grand....

So make the jump....But remember. As nice as the SRT10 is in top speed and road handling...The gen2's are holding their value better and to many people the true viper.

eighter way you cant go wrong. Just hurry up and get rid of the door stop

This is off subject I know, but you said you are from Hawaii, I've never seen a speed limit over 55, not even on Kona. Where do you get to open up your Viper? I would love to live in Hawaii, but I always think that if I did I would have to sell my sports cars because I'd have no place to really drive them.

im in the uk and previously owned a yellow c5 vert but i became tired of guys leaving their phone numbers on my windshield so changed for a silver c6. My 99 GTS is by far the better car. Feels like more of an old school muscle car than the vette. Not as common on the roads either

Classic Looks like you're gonna fit right in This forum is JUST like Corvette Forum except there aren't as many assholes.

BTW, you should be poisoned, hung, and quartered for going from a Vette to a Viper.

I feel ya on the CF issue, they are out of hand in my opinion. I've thought about the Viper move as well. My C5 is a daily driver, is that possible with a Viper?
