Then it's more capacity than my 97. The service manual for the 97 gts says 7.5 qts total (7.0 qts in pan + .5 qts in the filter.) Does anybody know what year they went to the larger capacity pan on the gts's?
According to the 97 service manual, the gts had only a 7 qt pan, but the rt-10 had the 10 quart pan. Why they would put a smaller pan on the the gts (in 97) is beyond me......
Frankly, you have to be very careful believing the service manuals. That note is most likely a holdover from the '96 manual, when the RT still had the Gen1 10 qt motor and the GTS had the lower sump capacity Gen2 motor.
