...what's the typical RWHP you guys are seeing with Gen II's Vipers and the paxton supercharger kit on a relatively stock to entire stock motor. Also any 1/4 mile times would be appreciated. I've been told by a local tuner that the basic paxton kit will give my stock (i only have a mopar cat-back exhaust) GTS over 600RWHP. He assures me it will put down at least 600RWHP if not 650RWHP....it this true and what can I expect? I'm seriously considering this mod for my Gen II, and I road race to boot* Thanks in advance.
Is it accurate that with a 'creampuff', non forged pistoned motor, it really isn't an option?
Or should I say, it isn't realistic to expect the motor to last for too long with any sort of forced induction thrown into play?
Very pleased with my 800rwhp 98 I bought from Kevin @ UGR
bone stock motor with cat back and their 16k Paxton installed and tuned!
Kevin and KC have got what you need 4SURE
my 97 made like 645rwhp and 630rwtq on 7 pounds with the basic system. i was told i could reach 700rwhp with the 10# pulley. and i think my installer said the paxton can put out up to 16#?? oh well, this power is great as it is
i see a lot of people with forged pistons praising the paxton, where are all the cast pistoned paxton's?
As long as your making less then 650 rwhp you can stick with the cast pistons. I use to run 7 lbs of boost when my engine was non forged and everything held up fine.

Excellent feedback Rick !
That works out to what? Roughly 740 at the crank ?
Plenty for me ! ( Although HP is addictive )

i have seen anywhere from 630-700 on a gen 3, but around 600 rwhp from gen 2 cast piston cars.

Was that on a gen3 ? Very little info (if any ??) on gen2 cast piston cars and a Paxton. I wonder if the pistons are actually better in the gen3 cars. I have never installed a Roe on a cream puff with more than 5psi.....and probably never will. On a cream puff gen2 I would either budget for pistons now or live with around 560 or so rwhp. Could go higher rwhp with plans to replace the pistons when needed.
I sure would like to do a Paxton on the wife's SRT......just can't get her to pay for it

I was running 7 lbs boost with my Paxton on my Gen3 Tony. The package was great and if I was not adding more horsepower I would have at least went with better tires. The weak point when you add the Paxton is the dam run craps. If you thought traction was an issue before....
Add a good set of tires and just the Paxton and you will be very happy.
Is the basic paxton sc kit less tempermental than the Roe? I know a couple roe sc owners and the cars never seem to be running that well, while it seems the couple members who have the basic paxton never have problems...or atleast none that ive heard.

I've said it in other posts and I'll say it here too... A buddy and me installed the 10lb. ROE with w/m and boost a pump in my lower garage in a few leisure evenings drove it to the dyno and did 620rwhp w/out tuning, just on the standard meth card that came with the kit Nothing but joy ever since super simple, inexpensive, and plenty O fun!

My Viper is also a 97' GTS. I only have the mopar cat back system...so you're saying with NO other mods on the BASE paxton S/C kit (~7psi) my 97 should make AT LEAST 600RWHP?? That's pretty stout, a 180-to-200RWHP gain from just bolt-ing on the BASE kit.

i have BB headers and borla cat back.
my car dyno'd at 452rwhp 490rwtq after i installed BB headers, removed the cats, added the borla catback and made the exhaust piping true 3" from the collectors back.
then i got a paxton kit and had that installed and made 645/630
my tuner said my car made nice numbers and it must be sealed up nice. he told me that normally it should be in the 620 range.
i would say, you should make at least 580rwhp. adding headers would put you in the 620 range or more
I junked the fuel system and split sec box that came with my Paxton kit in favor of a custom fuel system and the Vec II. The Paxton upgrades for fuel are not up to the task.
