help researching 96 gts
I am currently researching blue/white stripe 96 gts. I am looking for something under 15k miles, which appears should set me back $50K.
Does anyone have any recommendations on where to look? I have been keeping an eye on ebay, dupont registry, cars.com, and autotrader.com.
I have never purchased a vehicle online and am a bit hesitant, but am realizing I will have to with how exclusive the car is.
I guess I am looking for tips on what to look out for when buying this particular model.

Call Bernie Katz at BJ Motors. He is a stand up guy and has 4 right now that would be terrific cars for you. Bernie has been around for years, and knows these cars and what to look for. I have never ever seen a car come from that shop that isn't damn near perfect.

Keep your eyes on the classified here and the VCA. Most likely some will know the car or be able to check it out for you. It keeps the scammers away.
I second Bernie as well.

Here's one of Bernie's '96 /W with under 9k miles. A bit over $50k, but tell him I sent you and he may take off a couple hundred!

I checked out hissite and he has some real beauties! Thanks for the tip guys, I will definately give him a ring.
Are there any notorious problems I should check for when shopping for a 96 gts? Any recalls?

with the 1996's there are 2 recalls (998 & 999) and NGR (neutral gear rattle). The gear rattle and be sovle by changing trans fluid, the other 2 recalls need to have the frame welded.

is bernie flexible on any of these prices or is he firm at what is listed?
i am very interested in his vehicles, but they are little more than I was planning on.
and not that it will persuade me one way or the other at this point, but what are typical maintenance costs? I would assume it mainly goes to tires?
