I've read all the posts here and at the VCA. SUN RA I hope you eventually get the VIPER you originally contracted for. As for Macedo, I'd never take any car to them. As for the roll bar, I'd have it ripped out and have an Autoform installed. The Macedo design is retarded. You'll have to wear a helmet at all times including on the street to prevent your head from getting cracked open by that stupid bar directly behind and level with the back of your head. Maybe Larry has one in his car and he already cracked his head open and that is why he did a totally retarded job on your car?

Isn't NHRA spec that any rollbar extend 5" above the head area? If that is the case, then NO rollbar will work on a viper unless you punch a hole in the roof!

NHRA rules state that the rollbar can not exceed 5" over the top of the driver's head. Less than 5" is acceptable.
Bobby will NOT be calling UGR to help them with the problems they are having with your car. Thanks for leaving the message on his voicemail!
Wendy, My car is finished at UR. Kevin and his crew have been a pleasure to work with as they waded through fixing the mess I received from your shop. My speedometer has a minor flicker that they are looking into as a possible ground issue or maybe some errant duct tape from my $3500 fuel system. I'm finally getting the car I wanted from a professional shop who knows how to build a high performance viper, tune it, and not disparage their own customers in the process to cover up their own poor shop practices. BTW, thanks for confirming Bobby has been in your camp stabbing me in the back all along, that explains a bunch. See you at the parade.

Should make for some good discussion on open forum at your next VCA meeting, right? Like the December meeting? How many more by-laws do you have to break before they impeach you as the Ohio VCA VP?

For once, I will actually agree with DevilDog. Rip out that roll bar. Imagine getting rear ended and then your skull going into that roll bar. That could cause some serious damage. Get an Autoform or BTR roll bar and drop the seats a couple of inches (if you haven't already). I would also put some padding around the bar just in case because you are so tall.

Thanks. I agree with your padding recommendation too...good idea!

But I believe there has to be a min. of 2 inches in which case he will never be legal with the stock seats. Plain and simple if your head is above the roll bar it could be made of solid steel and it would not help.

Blah, blah, blah. Don't get so upset over some negative rep. I'd be more concerned over the pictures that have been posted already and those which may be posted in the future which depict the type of work that was done on Kenny's car for the bargain basement price of $28,000.
Kenny,
Don't just throw the numbers out there, we need details. How much boost are you running with the new setup? Are you running a front mount air/air intercooler or an air/water intercooler? Are you using water/methanol on your pump gas tune?
Congrats on getting the Viper that you'd been hoping for.

You know, I think I misread the rule book earlier. The max 5 inches applies to where the rear down bars attach to the main hoop. They can be no farther than 5 inches from the top of the main hoop, but less is alright.
I don't have my rule book with me now, I'll have to look later and see what the minimum head to hoop clearance really is.

My words of "FUNNY" and "entertaining" does not indicate that I am upset, dumbass! Like I care! Neg rep away!
