Looks to me like their pretty evenly matched. From the looks of the 2nd race.... the GT put maybe a car length, then Viper started reeling, then definitely let off. I wouldnt really call that a "total annihilation" but the GT pulled ahead, did it have a tune to go with it's basic upgrades?
Agreed, just looked like a nice close race to me. The GT weighs less and probably makes more torque to go with its similiar HP, no? I guess the results are about what I would expect.

Well stock advertised HP/TQ is 550hp@6,500 rpm and 500tq@3,750 rpm
So with tohse stock numbers in mind the TB and pulley bring it to what... 565-570 HP and around 515-520 or so TQ. If thats the case, then the GT driver really knew how to get through those gears.

Everyone around here says that GT made just over 600rwhp on a local dyno. Thats what I was going with. IIRC the owner of the car himself told me that. Maybe im crazy tho?

Has to be the weight then I suspose. I know Vipers are around 3400+ or so, GT was said to be around 3350.
But dude!.... try that weak GT up against a Venom 1000 TT and its no contest.

of course not. My former srtTT was a lot faster. However the perfect balance for the car will come once it goes to Heffner in a few weeks for the TT system. The only car that would be faster would be the TT Vipers.....but ya never know.
Car and Driver stated Heffner's TT was the fastest car they've tested to 180mph.

Good times, I hung with out guys until 130ish and then let off. My car handles like an RV with the drag radials out back above that speed. It was fun running three 600 rwhp cars abreast; you don't see that every day.
Both the Viper and the Ford GT are wicked fast cars. IMO - the FGT has a couple car edge that seems to grow as MPH increases from what I witnessed.

Thought you were an SVS customer? Well I made that Signed statement because when and if the vid makes it to that site you'll see a "Venom 1000 TT" comment somewhere in there. Maybe yours is the 5th GT that hot rod Heff was talking about in his other post. :bigsmile:

I still find it hard to beleive a heads/cam only viper is making 600rwhp. 600 Crank maybe but the most i've seen is around 540-550rwhp for a H/C car on a dyno.
I guess a true test would be for me to race shank with my 600rwhp dyno proven viper to see if we come out with similar results as in the videos
But with the weather and shank sending the car out to heff it probably wont happen.
