to clarify, I dont mean to start crap, I just want to talk about this. It didnt really spank it, it was a poor choice of words. It just ran quicker and faster. UGR if this is not a car of yours, please let me know and I will correct the thread over there, he told me it was a UGR car so please let me know.
The car dynod 1177rwhp the day before the race so it was definately making power and had to have a built motor to make that much power Im assuming
lets talk
cobra on left, viper on right
R/T .658 .335
60' 1.554 1.567
330 4.156 4.240
1/8 6.252 6.472
MPH 117.46 112.21
1000 8.059 8.327
1/4 9.598 9.907
MPH 146.04 144.80

That Viper looked quick out or the hole. Motor may not be built, plenty of guys haven't built the motor on TT Vipers, and that time looks like it came from a stock engine car. Nice run though.
the car made 1177rwhp on the dyno the day before in vegas, I HIGHLY doubt it was on the stock motor. UGR chime in? He said UGR but if it is not your guys' work, please correct him.
The viper blached second but still, thats really slow for the power
Viper looked like the ass end was sliding all over the place.
Also sounded like he couldn't get it / was searching for 2nd gear for whatever reason to me.

1177RWHP....then I take back my first statement lol. I too would be expecting a much lower number with that power.
Okay, this time I actually watched the video with sound, which should have been a no brainer
That wasn't a clean run at all, and isn't really considered "spanking" in my opinion. As you can hear he was looking for 2nd for a pretty good while. If he had hit second, he probably would have smoked the Cobra. The 2 cars should have ran again to see what would have really happened.
If that car is who I think it is, then I know him personally and he is a friend of mine. I have seen that car run a 9.6 in 100 degree temp while sliding all through 4th gear. So I know that car is much faster than that.
What really gets me with people who post things like this is that you show 1 video and jump up and start waving the victory flag. There are millions reasons as to why the Viper lost that race...
1) The cobra guy ran a hell of a race and the Viper guy was looking for 2nd gear.
That is what I see and hear from the video.
I am not saying the cobra is not fast, cause 9.5 is nothing to sneeze at. But you guys need to look at the whole picture before jumping to conclusions.
Just my 2 cents.

kingviper, Im not claiming cobras rule the world or this car is faster than the viper... its to discuss wtf a 1177rwhp viper is doing running 144mph. Even if he spun the whole way down the track to a 13.0 he would still trap WELL into the 160's.
Im thinking the TT viper owner just needs a few hundred driving lessons
He just got that TT not too long ago and so he is still working out the driving thing.
On the other site, the guy said the Cobra is an Auto? I know for a fact the Viper is a 6 speed. BTW, the Cobra guy said that the rest of the Viper at VOI were "pathetic", what that idiot doesn't know is that 99% of the Vipers there are not TT cars. I think my friend's one was the only one.
Hopefully that Cobra guy reads this...should his car be an auto, have him try and drag a 5 speed car and see how he does.

I have seen him trap 156 (I think) doing a 9.6. I am sure there was a reason. What I do know is that car has the small UGR turbos (I am not sure what size, but it is the smallest ones) and he hardly ever runs full boost because of traction issues.
Put it this way, that Corba is fast...very fast. But I am sure you give him another month or so, I bet he will be trapping speeds of well in the 160 range and the cobra will be no competition.
If the viper is really running the advertised dyno power on that run, it can do alot better for sure. If we can run 9.59@143 with less then 900 HP, this guy can dip into the low 9's for sure with a little more time.
A rematch is in order
