Went to the big dinner tonite. the last voi they had the top engineer, eric ridnaur speak and intro the SRT Coupe. i was sitting next to MP who was uploading the pic which popped up in autoweek a week later.
these shows are known for introducing new and exciting stuff. that is one of the reasons i came out.
so what great stuff was shown tonite? nothing. not a thing. they just had a couple of marketing people get up and stroke other DCX vehicles. the last lady gave us 30 minutes about sprinter vans and dodge work trucks. i wish i would have taken a pic of the 1500 people with the eyes closed sleeping. it was embarassing.
the hemi guy was funny and did a good job of saving the nite for dodge. or else it would have been a complete bust.
afterwards they had the memorabilia nite. not much interesting there from what i saw. certainly no big intros. jlemke's car looks good in person, it was there. but that was it.
other things i heard today was that they elected new vca officers. george farris is a good guy and new VP of the VCA.
there were also heated discussions about the fact that Jay Herbert was paid $11,000 in 2005. i sense that his days are numbered and will be run off the vca website soon.
something else funny about flanders - i got a pic of him laid out on the floor of the ballroom tonite. he actually threatened me after i took it and told me that he would sue me if he saw it on the internet. so i just need to find a card reader in the am so i can post up the pic.

So, everyone left the VOI with blue balls?? What a damn shame. They could have at least mentioned that they were working on the '08 Viper and given some goals that they were shooting for. I would have booed the bums off the stage. I am sure that one boo would turn into a room of bellowing cows, before long.

The best news I got from your post was that George Farris was elected VCA VP. George is a great guy and will be a real asset. There's now hope for the VCA.

I have no doubt that George is a good person based on what has been said here; but two years ago we had an "upset election" and saw little for it. Until someone steps up and changes the bylaws to get back to basics the good ol' boy network will continue to influence the direction of the club without having to hold any elected office.
The implementation of the Mercedes Club by-laws was a mistake; the whole Zone Director thing is a disaster; get rid of the whole mess and go back to regionals with a National Board.

Will he be using the 11K he made last year for doing jack shit to sue you?
