I am talking about the 96-99 with forged pistons. At what point do you have to start changing other components? And to get to about 650 or so RWHP what would need to be changed. Mind you I am thinking NA

I just realized how stupid my title was. But you get the point

Also how much power can you make NA with the stock displacement NA? At what point do you have to stroke and bore and al that good stuff?

850 RWHP or maybe a little more. I believe Gary Javo's old blue car had stock components.

You will probably start breaking half shafts before the engine goes. And to get to 650 rwhp NA you will have to increase the engine displacement.

Exactly. You'll have to dish out a good 25-30K for a stroker motor to stay NA and have ~650rwhp. I think the 7K Roe SC kit is the best bang for the buck to reaching close to those numbers.

sk this question in about a month or so. I am working on a N/A motor that I hope to push about 650 RWHP without boring/stroking. I will let you know what happens.

550rwhp is common when you keep it N/A. Heads/ cam and bolt-ons will do that. Every tuner has a 650hp package. But to get to the 650rwhp yes stroke and poke is needed if it's keept N/A. Not many people have tried to stay N/A and use the new head castings. It maybe possible...but no one has done it that I know of.

I'd love to have a 542 but I can't see myself paying 5k for a custom crank.

The most economical way to make 650rwhp is to simply use a roe....or paxton sc kit.

We have seen over 1000 rw hp on a stock gen 2 forged motor and run it pretty hard and didnt break it. 800 rw hp should be safe with the right tune.
