Whats the first year a gts came with an air bag?

Thinking about buying one and wasnt sure which year they started having air bags? Thanks.

All GTS' have duel air bags. It should be noted that it was is in 1998 that the passenger side air bag finally received cut off switch.

Yes and no.

'96 smooth dash
'98 alarm cut off switch, and newer dash..... and newer alarm system.
'99 Chrome door handles, Chrome e brake shaft, remote mirrows, and rear hatch release... and baseball type shifter knob.

my car has had up to 5 passenger side airbags, but I try to stick to 3.
