Need recommendations on a Viper tech t perform 998 recall
I prefer to take it somewhere as close as possible so SC, NC, or Ga would be my preference. I will take it wherever I need to go so the work is performed by someone qualified and recommended.
Also, any dealerships to stay away from would be helpful too (you can PM that if you would like).
I have been told that Tom Sessions in NC would be a good person to take it to. Any idea what dealership he is at and location?
he is the only one to consider in those parts. i think a search will reveal his location/dealership he is at. sorry but it slipped my mind. i live in nj and drove 2 hours north to chuck tator to get it done properly. have heard horror hack stories from guys that did it incorrectly. go to tom, he is the best near you.
Hoover Dodge in Summerville, SC has a Viper tech but I haven't used him yet.
A friend of mine has been a Dodge mechanic in SC for 25-30 years....not a Viper tech though. I will ask him if he knows anything about them. I definitely want someone to perform the recall who has done it as many times as possible and is recommended by other Viper owners.
Go with the known entity if you can! Tom is like a bloodhound with these cars (which is why he is a Viper Days Tech Inspector). He can find ANYTHING wrong. Ask some of the guys who went to VIR for the fisrt time a few weeks ago....some left Va broken (unbeknownst to the owners) and came home fixed. ***Broken is a harsh word....lets just say the cars came BACK in better shape than when they left.
What is the recall for?? What does it pertain too? Haven't seen it yet.
Follow the link below. Type in the last 8 digits of your VIN and it will tell you if it has been performed or not. You can also get a copy of the original recall letter sent out from here.

Thanks for the input. I have one more person I need to get in touch with to check his VIN. If it has not been done on his car we will have 2 for Tom. I plan on calling him next week.
