70 MM Throttle bodies.

Hi guys, new to the boards and the Viper world. I have a 98 GTS, with 3 inch exhaust, modifies cats, mufflers tailpipes, k&N filters, smooth tubes and a B&M short throw shifter.
Are dual 70 mm throttle bodies the next natural progression for bolt on's. The stock ones are tiny. Before I spend 600 Can, I was curious as to wether they would actually benfit the car. Pls and thank. The car ran 11:79 @121 the way it sits now.

no. you'll lose power. don't waste the $$. you'd be better off getting some T&D rockers. the 70mm's are a complete waste.

Headers are the next logical step. You will need to get the heads done and port the IM before 70mm TB's become beneficial. At that point you will need some sort of PCM tuning to get the most out of it.

Your idea was logical except there are other blockages to getting more cfm into the V10... so the hot rod list of K & N filters, headers, exhaust, cam (with better lifters) and heads (with roller rockers etc) is what then makes the throttle bodies worth while. The intake manifold is restrictive also over a certain point.

The V10 can take TB's much bigger than 70mm TB's IF everything else is opened up enough. But on a stocker - as JID said - you will not see a gain on 70mm.

Too funny racingbull, My 98 red GTS has same mods, smooth tubes, HFlow cats, 3" Randomtech system. BM short shift and shortened shifter another inch by dilling and tapping shaft then cutting it off.
