I emailed Tony (Vipermad) since he seems to be a pretty reasonable guy.
After messing with it further, I am pretty positive someone pressed the button on me. It cracks me up because we have all heard countless times when someone who Jay dislikes is suddenly and unexplicably banned and it gets chalked up to website glitch when Jays buddies realize he's off the reservation again and that they need to cover his ass. I'm sure that will happen this time too, but I am eagerly awaiting an explanation.
In any event, I'm not sure the website glitch is a great excuse for Jay, because he's it just makes him look incompetent rather than maniacal. I personally think he is both.
Tony is a good guy. I have a good feeling that the VCA is going to do the right thing and take away Jay's wand soon. Tony would be the logical guy to take on the day to day web operations with oversite from a VCA officer such as a Chris Marshall. Maybe I am being over optomistic, but I am sure that the VCA and Dodge are tired of being embarassed by Jay's antics.

Although I think Tony probably finds me slightly humorous but mostly distasteful, that speaks well for him as most classy individuals do. However, despite any personal distaste for me that I may mistakenly attribute to Tony, I feel that he is an exceedingly fair and credible individual and that the VCA would be far better off with him at the website's helm. If they have the good sense to include Chris Marshall in some advisory or supervisory position, I think it would go a long way towards restoring people's faith in the VCA leadership. I think Chris is one of the most helpful and well known and respected leaders the VCA has.
In any event, severing any control Jay has over the website and terminating any payments that he may be receiving from the VCA should be on the top of National's "To Do" list.
It appears I have now been mysteriously "unbanned" over at the VCA site. No explanation whatsoever.

1) No offense to Kenny....but I think it might have been operator error. Admins get a notice when ANYONE (or IP, etc) is banned....I received no notice of a new banning. Having said that, it is highly improbable that Kenny was banned, then unbanned as I would have seen two messages. COULD have been a fluke, or a glitch in the matrix.....but as long as it is back working I'm happy!
2) I, and I ALONE, admit to removing Cris's posts. I meant to post this morning and explain...I was late for work, sorry. To simply go over there and post with the sole purpose of starting something up (something that will not go anywhere) is just wrong. The same has held true (for the most part) when people would come over there and complain about this site. I removed more "Viper Alley is XXXXX" threads than I can remember, and I always let them know that they should "cowboy up" and post over here. Again, I meant to post about this so it wasn't a "hidden"...I just haven't had time. I hope it is obvious that I was not out to "get" anyone....The posts (I have them saved) were just there to pick a fight....be honest....you know I'm right. I understand that "the fight" has to be fought wherever possible, but I believe there is a better way to effect change (if that is what is truly wanted), other than making one's self look bad.
Sorry again. I try to be fair, and......I DO TRY to do less and less as I am supposed to be on a break. I apologize for any frustration I caused.
Sorry Tony but how are we mortals supposed to deal with Jay. We can't post about him in any way, VCA higher ups refuse to respond to emails and our local reps refuse to talk about the web site. So please tell me how. I have dozens of emails with him that go absolutely no where.
He is BAD for the VCA and change is required. Without the become a president and have a vote please tell me/us how.
Tony is a class act and a real stand up guy who takes the time to explain what goes on at the VCA site when asked. If he was running the site things would be a lot smoother. He doesn't take crap from anyone but has the courage of his convictions and will explain why an action was taken. What more can be asked of a mod.

Tony, I'm not sure how or why it happened, but I played with it from several computers and perhaps it was a glitch or something, but the timing made it very suspect for me. I have no doubt, however that what you are saying is 100% accurate.
Rodney, I have to echo what you are saying here. I don't have a problem with the VCA or its leadership. I have a problem with Jay Herbert and the fact that he is massively overpaid for a job that should be volunteer, does that job extremely poorly, and abuses his position for his own personal agenda. Again, he is probably responsible for alienating more VCA members than ony other single reason or perhaps more than all other reasons combined. Viper Alley would not exist but for Jay Herbert.
