The Brothel Barbecue the VCA doesn't want you to go to
Our renegade region of the VCA, the Nevada Region, is hosting our annual barbecue at Sheri's Ranch (a brothel in Pahrump, NV) the day before VOI.9 (Sunday, September 24). Of course, Ned Flanders over at the VCA site is doing everything he can to stop this event. Seems to me you guys over here will be alot more open-minded about this event. Anyway, if you're going to be in town for VOI.9, come on out to Pahrump and kick it off with us. All details regarding this event are at http://www.viperbbq.com
Ned Flanders has made sure to blast all my posts from the VCA forums even hinting at this event. He's so butt-hurt over it that he got the national board involved again this year and has been deleting posts in their name. Last year he was on the phone bitching out the national secretary and calling him a "whore monger". Clearly this guy is way out of control.
Nevertheless, this event is going to happen no matter what Ned Flanders tries to do to stop it. It's our region's biggest event every year. If any of you will be in town Sunday 9/24, stop by and check it out.

I am not a VCA member(sent my app. in a few weeks ago but never heard anything back) but wouldn't it just take a few of the elected officials to hold a vote concerning this? I can't see why that would even be necessary as I can't see 1 person holding complete control over the whole organization and his views regarding religion/politics overruling a whole regions functions. On another note, I read about all the problems with the VCA, which I assume led to this site, why doesn't someone just start another organization? Sooner or later the lack of participation in the VCA will send a message to them and the Dodge people.
Nobody from the national board cared at all about this event until Ned Flanders started squawking on the phone to them about it. It's gone the same way every year - we plan the event, post up about it inviting anyone else that want to go, Ned gets all worked up and called the national officers. Every year, they've sort of placated Mr Flanders then told our pres that it's ok to hold the barbecue.
This year, the VCA officers are more sensitive to the brothel as the location because of VOI and Dodge. They're just playing the "politically correct" angle on the whole thing because Ned is making so much noise.
For those of you thinking of going, there will be no free party favors but the management at Sheri's is working hard to make this the most unforgettable barbecue we've had there yet.

Go read the sticky at the Gen1/2 home page. Fear the power of Ned .
Exactly - those links are to last years' event and those threads spurred the "whore monger" call that Ned placed to the national secretary when he came out in support of our right to hold this event.
This year, they've been carefully combing posts about the barbecue.
I also have reason to suspect (but no hard evidence, yet) that Ned is monitoring PMs on that site as well.
We will not be backing down on this event and it will be held one way or another, despite Ned's best efforts to prevent it.
